Update: AMain customer support reached out to me and confirmed this motor was not a good combo for my setup. Without even asking, they gave me a full refund on this item and recommended the CSE010-0169-01 Castle Mamba Micro X2 1/18th brushless combo (4100Kv). I ordered that and a RRP1012 Robinson Racing steel 48P 12T pinion gear. With the new combo setup my yeti jr. runs great. Better acceleration, higher top speed, and longer run times compared to the NiMH batteries on stock setup. Running 3s I would definitely recommend gearing down as low as possible. I didn't get to try the HW 2435SL 4500Kv motor with HW EZRun ESC but I am pretty confident it would've worked as long as I ran the 12T pinion. Also realized the 3s "lipo" battery I was running was an LiHV which runs slightly higher voltage levels compared to a normal lipo. So that probably didn't help my initial setup. Overall, this EZRun ESC seems pretty capable but the motor seems pretty light duty. Very functional for the right setup but not for mine. But AMain customer service has come through above and beyond my expectations, yet again. I hope this review will help another customer choose the right parts for their build.
