RadioMaster MT12 Express LRS 16-Channel 2.4GHz Radio System w/ER3C-i Receiver
(Slightly edited review from the 4-in-1 version)

This radio is AMAZING!!

I initially pre-ordered the 4-in-1 version on Amain, but it was in stock on AliExpress, so I bought it there.

I received it a few days ago and I’m very impressed. It’s quite possibly the most advanced radio under $400 I’ve ever seen or heard of.

It runs EdgeTX (or OpenTX) and it has up to 16 channels. The ExpressLRS version offers better range and latency, while the 4-in-1 version supports most manufacturers’ receivers and standards like STDHSS and D8/16.

The best part is the expandability and all that hardware! It has so many customizable buttons, pots, trims, 3-way switches, you name it. It comes pre installed with a 512MB (yes, MB) memory card and that stores about 60 models in memory. I’m assuming that if you put in a larger card you can get toward of 100 models stored in this radio. Each model can have different settings (e.g, switch actions, RGB lighting, curves) or you can make a function global. It also supports really advanced programming such as curves, graphs, trigger trims, LUA scripts, sound effects, dual/expo rates, etc.

The hardware itself is pretty nice. It’s not Futaba, but it does have Hall effect sensors and adjustable tensions and whatnot. It looks cheaper online than it does in person. It’s a bit on the heavy side though due to the screen and hardware. The wheel and trigger sensors are incredibly smooth and fluid, unlike many RTR radios that use potentiometers and springs. It has a 5000mAh rechargeable 2s battery with XT30 plug. It charges via a USB-C charging board (which connects to the battery via the balance plug). The battery lasts almost a week with daily 1 1/2 hr use, which is very good. Since the plug is universal, it will work with any appropriate sized 2s battery. (There are settings that allow you to use LiFes and LiHVs too).

##UPDATE #1
I have been using this radio with my 8CH TRX-4 with rear steer, TT02 drift car, Traxxas Maxx, and a E-Revo VXL and even a tracked vehicle! (all equipped with aftermarket receivers and telemetry sensors. It works amazingly and has survived multiple ~3ft drops on concrete and light rain. The telemetry capabilities are A++!

##UPDATE #2
I’ve been using it every week or so now for the last 3 months almost. Not a single issue. At all. Battery is phenomenal. EdgeTX support is A+. No unbinding at all.

##UPDATE #3
It now appears that RadioMaster is now selling replacement parts on their website for extremely cheap! You can get mainboards, screens, steering wheels, replacement buttons, etc.

##UPDATE #4
I’ve taken the time to become more of a power user. Now I have launch control (special throttle delay and expo upon a button press to prevent wheelies) and even voice feedback and haptics. It even logs my runs for review at a computer! I could not be happier. And for only about $150, it’s a deal you don’t want to miss.

RadioMaster MT12 Express LRS 16-Channel 2.4GHz Radio System w/ER3C-i Receiver
Has more bells and whistles than I needed. Even for an old guy like me I was able to get it programed and operating my NPRC drag car, it will be great once I get it tuned to the car and running great. Can't beat the price and the quality seems great, thumb wheel is very sensitive and makes scrolling a little difficult. Thank God for all the great video's out there helping people get this thing figured out. Would be nice if they just made a specific transmitter with the features needed for drag racing, kind of a waste not to be using all the features this thing has.

RadioMaster MT12 Express LRS 16-Channel 2.4GHz Radio System w/ER3C-i Receiver
It comes unbound like on the josh bardwell utube channel... ok if its easy to rebind but unfortunate if its stubborn on race day. Also changes new settings sometimes. It set my throttle max min to 186 -186 ... maybe mine has a defect but its been a nightmare
