Swash Plate

The nitro version of the Nimbus 550 comes stock with a redesigned upper swash plate to address unequal cyclic and collective differential. Additionally, it includes longer outer swash plate balls to enhance servo to swash plate geometry. These upgrades, along with the updated upper swash plate, maintain the proven effective control ratio seen in the electric Nimbus 550 model.

Clutch

Utilizing a tapered clutch system derived from its larger counterpart, the Nitro 700, the Nimbus 550 Nitro sets a standard for smoothness and alignment in clutch stacks. This advanced system not only ensures unparalleled smooth operation but also simplifies the alignment process, offering pilots an effortless experience when assembling and maintaining their helicopter.

Airframe

At the heart of the airframe lies a robust single-piece 7075 aluminum bearing block assembly and servo mount, enhancing overall rigidity and stability of both the frame and drivetrain. The arrangement of cyclic servos in a 120-degree layout optimizes control geometry for precise handling. Engine maintenance is streamlined with bottom access, allowing for quick removal without disrupting other assemblies, all achievable within minutes. Additionally, the engine cooling fan shroud can be independently removed from the side without requiring disassembly of other parts, further facilitating maintenance tasks.
