ProTek RC "SureStart" Pencil Style Glow Igniter (AA Battery)

FWIW, Alkilines and many of the off the shelf NiMh batteries don't provide the current an ignitor needs to really light up an element.
I love the these small ignitors but the performance left much to be desired UNTIL I found these Awesome high discharge AA's on a cheap battery pack website. The capacity is only 1800 MaHr or so but they will put out 30 amps! Problem solved, they last a long time, multiple race weekends before a recharge.
These pencil type of ignitors are all I own now. Just get the right cell.

BTW in my experience, almost All of the plunger style ignitors don't hold the plug well. It's just the way it is. I personally have never needed an ignitor to hold onto a plug anyhow. Just heat the plug to start and remove. No need to let it sit and burn the life out of the element.

Terrible....never worked from day one. I received this glow igniter in the mail tried to see if a glow plug would ignite never could get it to work at all switch batteries nothing worked junk

Works great and is very light in the pocket! Only downside is it eats batteries up, but I always keep extra batteries !

junk, never worked right, kills battery's super quick. Ended up shorting out and the main body reached over 120 degrees

Worked for a practice session, then quit working. Also will drain a regular battery with 2 to 3 starts, then another battery needed.

Very fast delivery ordered on the 26th arived on the 29th. tested it out stuck an Energizer ultimate lithium in it and tested it on a glow plug and lit it up. For $10.99 it feels like it's high quality.

Good glow ignitor, works well with energizer AA rechargeables.

The product seems to be cheaply made. Fall apart easily. I ordered two of these to start my Schumacher Twin and it will not do the job. It refuses to hold onto the glowplug and slips off very easily.

Well it is built alright I used it once and the tabs that grab the glow pug bent and not sure it it even works I'm a rookie to nitro so I probably did something wrong but I would buy again

It works. No muss no fuss. Used high capacity rechargeable from Walgreens. I just keep an extra battery in my pocket on race days. It works until it doesn't, then change the battery.

Just recieved it in the mail, seems to be very well made, will see how it lasts.
