ProTek RC 1KTBL High Torque Brushless Crawler Servo

Protek 1KTBL Servo Banner Photo

The ProTek 1KTBL was developed to satisfy the needs of torque thirsty enthusiasts. With the ability to deliver over 1000 oz-in of torque and .11 transit speeds at 8.4V, there aren't many servo options that can compete. Competition rigs, heavy scalers and bashers can take advantage of what the 1KTBL delivers. Even large scale surface models and airplanes can benefit from the insane torque the 1KTBL can produce.

All this power means nothing without durability - and the Protek 1KTBL punches far outside its weight class. This servo offers the power, reliability and durability needed to keep the competition on the ropes. The proven gasket system allows waterproof protection up to 1-meter, so it will go the distance in any condition. A full steel gear train, 25T output shaft and full aluminum machined heat sink case finish off the package to create a tough servo that is perfect for demanding applications. The 1KTBL delivers power in excess - with the durability and reliability that make ProTek R/C servos a an easy choice for enthusiasts that expect the most from their rigs.

"The ProTek 1KTBL is very impressive. It is strong, reliable, and durable enough to take on any course. I put the 1KTBL through rigorous testing and I will definitely be upgrading my entire crawling fleet with this ProTek servo!"
Ben "Toyzuki" Moren, ProTek R/C Team Driver

ProTek RC 1KTBL Black Label Ultra High Torque Brushless Waterproof Crawler Servo
The new 1KTBL is a beast! You don’t need 1000oz in until you do! The speed is perfect. It’s nice being able to use a servo with this amount of power with only 7.4v. No direct power needed. No external BEC needed (assuming you are using 1080 or some castle creations products). Servo never got hot or felt like I was losing strength. Do yourselves a favor. Subscribe and get the emails from Amain and use the coupons and save yourself some $! You won’t be disappointed!

The servo to end all servos. This thing is so powerful even at 7.4v and I never get bound up. It’s fast too. Money well spent. Message me on Instagram if you have any questions about the servo or how it’s lasting me @midwestern_rc

Got it at my LHS for my savage 4.6. Made the savage turn like my mbx8R and it will roll over if I'm not careful in how fast I turn. Running w/o a BEC on 2s lipo. ABSOLUTE BEAST!

I’m sold on this servo. For the abuse I’ve put my wraith through it’s a miracle this thing is still alive.

ProTek RC 1KTBL Black Label Ultra High Torque Brushless Waterproof Crawler Servo
My setup:
First rock crawler, more for scale and learn about rock crawling. Element Trailrunner, Nice truck by the way!
I had updated the radio to a Spektrum DX5 Rugged and receiver. Running the Warn Winch which I made a custom mount to mount over the steering servo plate, this too was changed out for the BowHouse aluminum plate replacing the factory plastic.
Ive updated the steering setup to Bowhpuse and have Brass bits around the car and updated 1.9 wheels and proline predator compound tires. Still running Factory brushed Team Associated motor and ESC.
So with this setup without external BEC I am supplying 6V to the steering servo and also the Warn winch.

ok focus on the steering servo, way better than the stock although nothing was wrong with the factory servo this servo provides much more reaction, fast and crisp steering. Also holds the tire positions much better than stock! The difference is immediately noticed and appreciated. I figure if I updated the steering plate to aluminum and using BowHouse updated steering components might as well improve the servo and take advantage of the updated receiver output of 6V. So with 6V the servo is suppoed to output 55 oz in of torque so that's 55 pounds. I think I am good with that but there is a temptation to try a castle BEC and feed 7.1 volts directly to the steering servo. I'm not sure I will do this yet.

Overall its a great servo and will look to use this in other cars!

Amendment to the above, a month later:
I finally put a multimeter to my AE supplied ESC and the voltage is 7.4v to the steering servo. All this time I saw the 3 star review and thought I was also running 6 volts but my steering servo is wicked strong and responsive ....turns out its running on 7.4. Very happy with this steering servo one month later and it is not a light truck.

ProTek RC 1KTBL Black Label Ultra High Torque Brushless Waterproof Crawler Servo
The fit and finish on this servo is great, feels very heavy duty. I installed this on a Traxxas UDR. The speed is about average as a stock servo, and the torque definitely seems to be a bit higher than stock. For the price I really was expecting more from it. I’m not displeased, but It doesn’t blow my hair back.

AMain Hobbies Note: The BEC inside the UDR is only capable of 6.0V. For maximum servo speed and torque, a BEC that can output 8.4V is required.

ProTek RC 1KTBL Black Label Ultra High Torque Brushless Waterproof Crawler Servo
Super strong and fast and high quality, im 100% satisfied however, the only downside is the price, it is too high of a price and its not even the strongest nor fastest standard sized serv out there, the nsdrc rs1 is much stronger and much faster and the nsdrc rs1 is also much cheaper only at 149.99 compared to the 189.99 of the protek 1ktbl, while the nsdrc rs1 can push out 1200+ ounces of torque at 8.4v!!!!!!Therefore i say stay away from the protek 1ktbl and go for the nsdrc rs1 as it beats it in every way and also in price by a big margin, even if money is no object, the nsdrc rs1 is still the best servo out there so yea, get the nsdrc rs1 instead, but dont get me wrong, the protek 1ktbl is also not bad and i like it, just not the best option
