Losi Desert Buggy XL "K&N" 4WD 1/5 Scale Buggy
This is a great car. Came perfect out of the box and the manual was easy and self-explanatory. The car started on the 3rd pull and is still running perfectly. Thanks to the great customer support from Amain and the quick shipping was exellent)

Losi Desert Buggy XL "K&N" 4WD 1/5 Scale Buggy
In Stock form, this buggy is ok at best. It has no power at all. Handling isn't great. The stock shocks suck. And the chassis flexes way to much. With that said. The dbxl can take a massive beating. Now. Once you throw on a pipe, metal chassis braces, 5ive- t front shocks (on the front and rear), and take the outer air filter off and replace it with an outerwears (taking the outer filter off doesn't apply with the k&n version). You will have a buggy that is quick, handles great, and can jump for days. In Stock form I give it a 3. With the upgrades mentioned above, I give it a 5.)

Losi Desert Buggy XL "K&N" 4WD 1/5 Scale Buggy
The Losi 1/5th scale cars are the only way to go. They start on a few quick pulls even after sitting for months. The are NOT like the little Nitro cars where you get blisters from trying to get the little ^#@%& to start from tiny, fragile pull cords. No glow plugs, etc.

With that out of the way, the 5ive-T stadium truck is the most rugged, the DBXL Dessert Buggy is probably the fastest, and the MTXL Monster truck is easily damaged due to its TINY front bumper. However, the Monster truck may be the most fun to drive, especially in snow.

The initial buy-in ($$$) may scare some people off, but I assure you, these things have way more "up-time" than any of the Traxxas nitro stuff and even the Kyosho 1/8th scale. They are also much easier to work on, parts are readily available and reasonable, the gas is CHEAP compared to nitro, and they take the bumps without flipping all the time like the smaller stuff. Even the much larger upgrade engines are less expensive that the tiny nitro counterparts. (Although I have not blown an engine like I have with the Nitro stuff) I suspect because these engines are used in all sorts of outdoor landscaping tools, etc. and there are economies of scale. Either way once you go big, you will never look back.)
