Castle Creations Sidewinder 1/10 Scale Short Course Brushless Combo w/Neu-Castle 1410 (3800kV)
I like this motor a lot! But I hate this ESC. I always had trouble each race day. Sometimes stops during race. After 3 race days in indoor track, already broken. Wont turning on anymore...

don't be fooled by the "low" KV rating, this motor is a rocket

I've got it in an SC10 and it's probably a bit much for racing (although it's got a ton of features to tone it down if you are willing to spend the time to tune the torque control)

for bashing around, it's silly fast, even on 2S and it runs cool as well, I'm running 75/22 and could go a bit taller if I wanted to.

Huge two thumbs up on this system. I had to readjust your truck a bit because the torque jump from the stock motor in my Blitz was so substantial.

It's affordable, easy to put together and performs like a champ. Pretty much anything you'd need in a ESC/Motor combo.

also, you need to gear this much differently then the VXl because of the torque output to keep the engine and ESC a good temp. overall, Great system with Castle link.

For what you get, this is a great value. It's going to make you car outrageously fast but you can dial it down with the castle creation software. I have this in a short course truck and it's good if your suspension can take advantage of the power and not spin the tires. If I was bashing I would just get a velineon system since it's waterproof and 20 dollars more with similar performance.

Motor is great and the system worked fine for awhile. I noticed however that it was no faster on grass or street than the Stock slash 4x4 VXL system. I raced someone and we tied every time with stock pinions. They were using an 8.4v NIMH and I was using a Gens Ace 2S 5000mah 40C lipo so perhaps the extra volt was helping them. I upgraded the pinion from 13t to 15t and wow, this thing really started moving.

Then came the bad part. After about 20 minutes of drive on a slightly bigger track than I usually run it started cutting out. Usually for about 30 seconds. I was basically having major heat issues with the ESC. The motor was fine.

So, I'd give the motor 5 stars easy! I give the ESC 3 stars since it is programmable and seems to work ok with the stock pinion setup but couldn't hang with a bigger pinion which this motor really needs to go fast.

I wish they'd have this same motor paired with the MMP, I'd pay extra for that. The average is 4 stars for this kit in my opinion.

the motors great but the esc sucks because on the track i hit a little puddle and then a huge cloud of smoke come from so its not water proof and i mean it was a really small puddle

i havnt gotton one, but i talked to a guy at hobby town, u r going to have WAY more speed and WAY more torque, the mini revo is such a light truck, u wont have heating problems, just watch your diffs and driveshafts.
