Bought this to use with my Yeah Racing TT-02 RWD drift kit. Being jealous that other drift cars have more suspension settings than a normal TT-02, I decided to try something different.

First impressions are that these are some rather BEEFY towers! I know it’s just three layers of carbon fiber mat but those three layers make for a rather robust tower that I’m sure is plenty durable for my purpose. For racing and/or bashing purposes where crashes are inevitable, your mileage may vary. I would strongly recommend using some brush-on CA glue to further strengthen the weave between the layers.

As far as fitting, the towers seem… off or more specifically not sitting level. It’s not too big of an issue as you can fix the leveling easily but if one nitpick I have with these is how crooked the towers are. Another thing to mention is that the rear towers have the camber arm mounting points that are LOWER than on the front towers. Not sure if it is like this on actual Type S chassis cars but as an aside, anyone considering purchasing these should be aware that they’ll need to inspect their alignment after fitting.

Speaking of these, this is meant for cars that are either fitted with Yeah Racing’s TATT-S04 Competition Kit or are genuine Type S chassis. However, I’ve found only recently that this WILL work with Yeah Racing’s RWD Drift conversion kit. The only caveat to using these is that you will have to check your alignment on your car, especially if you’re like me and using them for a purpose they weren’t originally intended for. Also, keep in mind that these DO NOT come with hardware or instructions so you are on your own if you are planning to buy them to fit to your TT-02.

All in all, I am very pleased with them and I can’t wait to fit them up to my car!

UPDATE (12/30/2022): I have successfully fitted this tower to my car which has the Yeah Racing RWD Drift Conversion Kit (TATT-S02) installed. While it has worked successfully, you will need to purchase additional parts to make it work.

Parts required to fit to TATT-S02:
-(4) M3x20 Flathead/Countersunk Hex Screws
-(4) 3x4x6mm spacers (ID; Thickness; OD)
-(4) 3x5x6mm spacers (ID; Thickness; OD)
-(4) M3 nuts if your choice.

Yes, it is a bit of additional work to get to be compatible with the RWD conversion kit but it can work. Just know that the changes to the suspension are drastic and also affect the overall ride height. Steering shouldn’t be an issue as long as there is a “load” put on the wheels; the steering links WILL bind on the control arms if there is no load applied (ie if holding the car rather than sitting it on the work bench)!

Hope this helps anyone thinking of buying the RWD conversion and wanting carbon towers instead of the kit supplied plastic ones.

Yeah Racing Tamiya TT-02 Carbon Fiber Rear Shock Tower
Does NOT fit TT-02 at all. The lower hole of the piece does not allow for the upper arm control arms support shaft to go through and therefore doesn’t work at all. Major problem. I bought both of these units and neither work. I will have to return them.
