Xtreme Racing Traxxas Sledge Carbon Fiber Battery and Servo Mount. This optional mount is intended to replace the stock battery tray and servo mount on the Traxxas Sledge. Constructed from carbon fiber this high strength, lightweight mount allows you to run a larger battery for more runtime and power. Additionally the integrated servo mount provides a rigid and strong mounting point to handle high torque aftermarket servos. Package includes one 2.5mm carbon fiber battery tray with various mounting brackets, one battery strap, one carbon servo top plate, spacers and mounting hardware.

Xtreme Racing Traxxas Sledge Carbon Fiber Battery & Servo Mount (2.5mm)
I received my battery/esc mount roughly a week ago. It looks nice and I have even opened it up. I purchased it to take the place of another “upgrade” that didn’t work at all. This one might have been given a decent rating if it had any instructions included.
I have searched and can only find instructions for other Traxxas models on YouTube videos. Not one for the Sledge. Plus what’s up with the single battery strap?
The best thing to do is to remove the stock battery retainer lid and put some Velcro straps on it instead. Run one lengthwise and maybe a couple around the width of the battery tray.
I have over $100 invested in upgrades that are unnecessary. Could have maybe spent $20 on Velcro straps and have more money in my pocket.
To top everything off Xtreme Racing does not include two aluminum battery strap hold downs that holes are drilled in the battery mount for. All you can do is run one lengthwise like the HR upgrade which failed miserably. You need to have a strap going around the battery in a cross pattern to hold the battery on properly. Those 2 battery strap hold downs cost $20 that should be included but aren’t. That brings the cost of the Xtreme Racing battery tray/servo mount to $90. Add the $26 for the HR one and I’m out of $116 total.
If you order this please include p/n XTR10649 for another $20. Don’t find out the hard way like I did.
