This is a set of optional XRAY adjustable height front body mounts, and are intended for use with the XRAY T2 family of vehicles, as well as the NT1 family of vehicles. This set of +1mm height-adjustable body posts are for serious racers who focus on the small details. Because body height plays a very important role in the performance of the car, ultra-fine body height tuning was developed by XRAY R&D engineers to address this increasingly important tuning option.

The body posts are a direct replacement for the standard body posts in the T2 and NT1 family of vehicles, and the body holders offer elevated mounting. This makes body height adjustment very quick and easy. In a few short seconds and two clicks, you can exchange all the body holders and then adjust the body height. Are you looking for cutting edge, fine-tuning adjustment? You have it now.

The body mount set includes the extra robust 6mm-thick body posts molded from special XRAY composite material that is ultra lightweight yet very durable and flexible to minimize breakage if the car flips or crashes. The beefy body posts are easily mounted to the car and include the necessary hardware to mount the body holders and the body holders have been stamped +1 for easy identification.

XRAY Adjustable Front Body Mount Set (+1mm)
Bought these to replace the mounts I’ve previously purchased from Amain to use with my two TT-02 chassis.

As I’ve stated, I had purchased some mounts from Amain but sadly, those did not allow for finer adjustment to bring the body height of my NSX GT down enough to not look goofy and not flutter and tuck as much on track. I had considered Tamiya-made body posts but were for the most part too expensive. I also researched different “compatible” posts and had one set considered but sadly, the retailer wasn’t expecting any new stock until July. Three whole months to wait JUST for new body posts?! Time to get creative again!

While these are a little more pricey than my previous body posts, they ARE 6mm thick, which is the same thickness as what Tamiya use for their cars and provide me with more adjustment up front to bring the car down a few more millimeters to get the ride height prefect. Mounting these to my chassis shouldn’t be any real issue given that these posts should line up with the holes currently on the body and attach in the same location as my previous body posts likely using the same hardware.

Having received these posts, I’ve installed them onto my current racing chassis. The posts are really 6mm and will accept Tamiya body post extensions if needed for classes like Euro Truck. I really like the body supports given with the kit as they eliminate the need for washers and will prevent the body holes from cracking open while racing. The great thing is the internal bevel cut into the mounting holes that will aid you in centering the posts over the top of the M3 screw your using to secure said posts to the front of your chassis. I recommend using some candle wax or some spare grease to aid in installation as screwing the posts without it can be a pain in your hands! No, really; it’ll hurt if you don’t, especially if you use hex hardware and an L-shaped 2mm Allen key!

One thing to note is the +1mm, +2mm differences in the Amain listing. The difference between the listings is mainly for how high up the body supports sit above the pin so for example a +1mm will sit the support 1mm ABOVE the pin and so on. If you’re unsure, you can buy the posts in standard height (0mm) from Amain if you select the posts that don’t mention any extra height in the listing. For me, I did feel as though I’d made a mistake but I can’t argue because these are the only posts I can use with the body.

So far, all I can say is that my trials with finding the right bumper-mounted body posts for my TT-02 will hopefully give some insight as to which posts will be compatible and which won’t. While these are made for an XRay chassis, one has to remember that with any other spare part in RC, you can use these on any other chassis, provided everything is the same size and dimensions and if they work, they work.

*NOTE: I have since fitted this to my chassis and unfortunately the Tamiya NSX GT 2005 body cannot be lowered on a TT-02 using standard mounts as the body comes into contact with the uprights. You must use bumper mounted posts or the body will sit too high.
