Team Associated SC10 RTR Brushless 2WD Short Course Truck Combo (Lucas Oil)
I've had this truck for about three months and use it exclusively for outdoor dirt track racing. the truck preforms excellent, I'm still running the stock electronics and motor and been able to keep up with and sometimes beat guys with more expensive setups. I would not recommend this truck for just driving around your neighborhood. Team associated makes racing quality RC vehicles, this means they are going to require maintenance. I completely teardown and clean the transmission and drive train regularly, and rebuild the diffs and shocks about every fifth race. If your are looking for a vehicle that requires no up keep and maintenance this is not the truck for you. If you want to go to your local track, put in the hard work and win this is the vehicle for you. These other reviews about replacing bearings and breaking axle's, they must not be cleaning or taking care of their trucks post race. A few upgrades I would recommend are Aluminum hex's and titanium turnbuckles, but the truck works well without. I hope you found this review useful, If you are planning on racing buy an Associated, Team Losi, or Kyosho truck (Not Traxas) if you want to be competitive.

Team Associated SC10 RTR Brushless 2WD Short Course Truck Combo (Lucas Oil)
I have a stable full of these and they are impressive trucks. I have one, my father has one, my son has one, and my daughter does as well. We are racers only, I have been nothing but pleased with these trucks. Really solid starting point for a racer. The only difference between the trucks are the cosmetics of the body, so there is no advantage to getting the monster energy edition vs. the pro comp one, etc. under the body shell they are all exactly the same. The racespec editions are definitely worth the up charge from the standard sc10, including a powerful brushless motor with esc and a hex wheel front and rear. It also has some other minor touches like a race worthy battery strap.

Really easy to drive right out of the box.
TON of aftermarket support to customize and tune your truck.
Very easy and straight forward to work on.
Very durable.

Some things to note are as follows. The ball cups on the rear have a habit of popping off, especially if you race on a hard packed clay track and come down off a jump sideways. This causes the dog bone drive shaft to fling out of your truck. Make sure when you have a crash like this you check for that driveshaft on the ground somewhere nearby. The best fix for this is to convert the rear turnbuckles to captured ball ends like what is found on the sc10 4x4. The diff comes packed with black grease, a much better option is to fill the diff with silicone diff fluid, and this also allows you to tune the diff as well with different weight oils. A big weak point that should be addressed before you even drive this truck is that the rear axles use a rolled steel pin to transfer energy to the drive hub from the drive axle. Ditch these immediately and upgrade to the factory team ones, they are only a couple of dollars and I have yet to break one as they are solid steel instead of a rolled pin. I have broken the stock ones several times.

Solid truck and a fantastic way to get into racing!

Team Associated SC10 RTR Brushless 2WD Short Course Truck Combo (Lucas Oil)
I bought my SC10 in the beginning stages of my interest for the hobby. Since then I have noticed that the SC10 has much more cons then pros. The car is not ideal for every day use, but more so an extra. If money is not a thing to you, you have knowledge of the hobby and you are into mods, this could be a decent option for a project car. It comes with a decent receiver, but I needed to replace the tires almost immediately (3-4 months), it came with a broken axle (check this product before running) - I also needed to replace the hubs, and it pretty much eats through bearings constantly. Pretty much, expect to replace anything stock within 6 months.RPM, STRC, Integy will all give you an option on replacement parts. Over all, Amain is responsive, and ships quick - but when it comes to returns, they fall short. The return shipping falls on you, and it costs almost half of whatever you paid for the item. 2 out of 5 stars.
