Team Associated's B5M Factory Lite Mid-Motor 2WD Competition Electric Buggy Kit has gained success at both the club level and at major racing events around the world. Team Associated Area 51 engineers took it upon themselves to make the best RC10 to date even better by creating a B5M that has been optimized to excel in classes requiring spec motors and in track conditions that allow the racer to take full advantage of the performance offered from reduced weight.
The RC10B5M Factory Lite Kit sheds over 75 grams of weight, includes a 3-gear transmission for lower rotational mass, a lightened hard-anodized aluminum chassis, titanium turnbuckles, aluminum front axles, and more. Combine this with the other standard B5M features and you have a car that is ready for competition out of the box.

Team Associated RC10 B5M Factory Lite 2WD Buggy Kit
The B5M Factory Lite has become THE kit to have for indoor racing. It comes with the B5 flat arms in front and the shorter wheelbase B5 rear arms (parts you normally would buy with a B5M kit). This is not purely a 17.5 stock car. The 3-gear transmission is ideal for both stock and mod as the motor orientation helps stabilize the car. Typically, compared to a 4-gear, the 3 gear needs a little more weight on the rear to give it on-power traction. That means, the heavy "c" block or running the battery location further back. The lite version chassis is great, it allows for a little more flex and I thought it landed the jumps soft "like a cat" as you are shedding about 1 oz of weight.
This is the car to beat, get one and you won't be sorry with the level of performance and off-track support.

Team Associated RC10 B5M Factory Lite 2WD Buggy Kit
This is my first buggy (albeit a platform behind) having started with 1/8th buggy, scte, then stadium truck. I am very impressed with the B5M Lite along with the stock setup. Also, having spent much time in the ST class I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend more money on a newer platform, not having a driving comparison. It's a great buggy and a great price point for those looking to race or aren't ready to buy the newer, more expensive platforms. I recommend the factory lite for those getting into 1/10 scale racing like I did.

Team Associated RC10 B5M Factory Lite 2WD Buggy Kit
I actually tried to avoid this kits for a while. Ive been racing since 1991. I would rate myself as average. I had the B2, the B3 and all the B4 versions.
I really wanted to try a different brand this time around.
I went with the Losi, then the Serpent SRX2, then the Yokomo YZ2 and ended up back here. For me, this was the best of the bunch.
It really is ready to go out the box.

By far my favorite buggy, everything you want and need is in the box, I have an rb6 too and although I think it's great, there's a lot of stuff going on. Where as the b5m you build it, throw it on the track and it's great every time.

this car can compete with all the newer models! Im glad I bought this

Amazing buggy kit! I literally have only broke a handful of times in the last year that I bought my first[I own 2 of them] and I have beat it down out on my person track. They are on sale now here at amain. There is a video on youtube that will walk you through the assembly of this amazing kit. Stay away from RTR buggies and just buy this! You will be happy you did. You will need to learn how to work on them anyways. Stay away from the rtr.

Have been out of 2wd for a while, but bought this cause my brother has the 5m and it was completely dialed. After getting the lite, omg, it took in total less than five hrs to put together. But ease of assembly doesn't mean that it'll translate to being great on the track. Boy was I wrong! It's very forgiving with the wrong setup and is blistering fast with the right one! Associated got it right w the plastic parts as well, cased several jumped, ran into a few things head on/clipped going by which had broken other cars of mine, but not this tank! Walked away unscathed. Would recommend this car to anyone, no problem.

Team Associated RC10 B5M Factory Lite 2WD Buggy Kit
my first kit i built up, and kit manual was really good and easy to follow, as for setup out of the box... phenomenal. All you got to do out of the box is tune the camber, ride height and adjust the slipper. I opted out of the slipper and put on the exotek slipper eliminator. Not sure how the slipper works honestly its probably all good. But cannot believe how fun this car is to drive, its really good for indoor racing, just make sure you have a good tire setup indoors. 10/10 would buy again, legitamately probs gonna buy another one of these to build up for mod. have fun building cause i had a blast
