The Spektrum RC 2S Hard Case LiPo 120C Shorty LiPo Battery is a high voltage battery option designed for the most extreme amperage loads. With high discharge ratings, exclusive Pro Series LiHV Battery chemistry, and Smart's added benefits, the Smart Pro Race batteries are game changers for the RC racing community. These batteries are available in all popular sizes and configurations for 1/10 and 1/8th scale racing models, drivers get top-of-the-line LiPo performance with the added benefits of Smart, guaranteeing successful races with each pack cycle, lap after lap, and heat after heat.
When a Smart Pro-Series LiHV Battery is connected to a Spektrum Smart charger, its unique charging parameters and health information are uploaded to the charger from its integrated memory microchip. You can view and set preferences through the charger, such as charge rates, so all that’s required to charge the pack is connecting it to your Smart charger. Smart technology takes care of the rest.

Can't speak to the quality but gets uniformly good ratings. I do want to comment on Amain customer service however. Bought two of these batteries and followed the shipment tracking. Said they were delivered but they were not, either lost or maybe delivered to the wrong address. Without question, Amain immediately sent out replacements free of charge and picked up the shipping cost as well. Doesn't get any better than this.

The battery weight to power ratio is excellent and the build quality is excellent as well. I’ve tested the new Spektrum Smart Pro 6300mAh LiHV battery against a Maclan 6400mAh LiHV battery, a Protek 6400mAh LiHV battery, and lastly a Fantom 6400mAh LiHV battery. In my opinion they all performed the same. The tempatures after use felt the same, the weight on the Spektrum is 19g lighter then all the other batteries, the time the batteries lasted was the same. The 100mAh difference makes absolutely zero difference. As of this review the price is 20% less for the Spektrum Smart Pro batteries than the competitors batteries I tested. Now for the reason I couldn’t give this battery review 5 stars. First reason is it’s not ROAR approved. Secondly I feel a little mislead by how Spektrum markets it as a G2 smart battery. It’s more like half smart because you have to plug in the balance connector. I understand having to plug in a 3rd cable to the battery…Two 5mm bullets and a 3rd balance. This makes sense obviously, but you would think the IC5/IC3 connector would relay the balance information. Unfortunately, this is not the case and you need to plug in the balance connector as well or you will get an error. After everything is connected though it’s SMART like your used to….picking charge setting automatically, battery diagnostics and health, auto discharge, etc. So I have to hookup the battery like all the competitors. If the battery wasn’t 20% less then the competitors I would feel a little more advertised simplicity deceived. In summary these batteries are the best 6300/6400mAh LiHV Shorties available. I plan on using these exclusively going forward and also stocking up before they raise the price.

Its really a shame that Spektrum ruined what could have been a great battery with this worthless balance plug. It will wear out within less than 10 charges and then is a complete nightmare to try and get the battery to charge. DO NOT PURCHACE until Spektrum redesigns this plug.
