This is an optional Serpent gear differential set for the Serpent SRX 2. This gear differential features a compact composite housing and a 51T gear. The specially designed shape delivers super smooth differential action, while silicone seals provide a leak proof assembly. One of the housing sides has four small metal threaded shaped nuts, which key into slots and sit flush with the case, and four screws insert from the other side and tie the two halves together. The outdrives are Serpent Spring Steel and are machined on both sides to reduce weight. The full assembly weighs only 28.9 grams without oil and can be installed with no modification. Serpent recommends 7000cst oil as a starting point.

Great gear differential. Now has version 2 o rings that fix the small leaking problem of the ver. 1. Gear pitch means you will need to use higher weight oil then in AE gear differentials to get the same effect. This is the diff of choice for most of my TLR 22 running friends.

Very much worth it! if your running a tlr 22, this will fit. i currently run on carpet with the tlr 22 sct 3.0 and the ball diffs get cooked super easy but this gear diff is almost a near perfect fit, you will need 6 0.3mm shims,3 on each bearing and its mint. i used the yeah racing 10x12mm stainless shims for this, https://www.amainhobbies.com/yeah-racing-10x12mm-stainless-steel-shim-set-30-0.1-0.2-0.3mm-yea-ya-0649/p1358878, either 7k ae diff oil for starts should be good.
