This is the Pro-Line Performance Steering Kit, and is intended for use with the 2WD Slash and Electric Rustler. Do you want to take your Slash to the next performance level? Whether you are racing or bashing, the increased steering response and precision provided by Pro-Line’s Performance Steering Kit will lead to faster lap times and more fun! The kit includes ball bearings for silky smooth steering action and an adjustable servo-saver that allows you to control the desired amount of steering response, while still protecting your servo. As an added bonus, Pro-Line’s development team eliminated possibility of the steering popping out by bolting the steering column through the chassis. Pro-Line’s steering kit is a must for every 2WD Slash and Electric Rustler!

The stock servo-saver is not ideal for racing or bashing conditions because it allows the front wheels to drift from side-to-side too much, causing you to lose control. Pro-Line’s steering kit provides precise control because you can adjust the exact amount of tension on the servo-saver. The steering kit also eliminates the stock white plastic steering assembly and replaces it with durable black nylon for that race look you desire. Ball bearings are also a necessity for smooth and precise steering response and these are included with the Pro-Line Performance Steering Kit. After installing this steering kit you will never have to worry about the steering kit popping out ever again. The kit includes the necessary hardware to bolt the steering and skid plate to the chassis, which makes the front end stiffer and stronger!

Features:
  • Made from extremely durable nylon material
  • Direct replacement for your Slash and Electric Rustler
  • Race inspired steering design that rides on smooth ball bearings
  • Heavy duty, adjustable servo-saver to protect your servo
  • Steering bolts through chassis eliminating the possibility of the steering popping out

The type of plastic this is made out if too flexible. I have this in my Slash 2wd. Going through a corner, the steering washes out because the arms start to flex and bend upwards. It's not getting rid of slop, just changing where it happens. The adjustable servo saver is nice in theory in in reality it's very hard to adjust when it's on the truck. Even when I had it tightened all the way down it the steering washed out.

I have always loved proline parts so I did not hesitate to purchase this product. And I was very disappointed the steering arms are so soft they flex horribly. So bad that I am going to take it off an not use it. An for $30 that sucks. Just setting still with no load an turning the wheels the arm flexes so bad that you don't even get all your steering. If it was made with better plastic it would be a great piece.

The problems listed in other reviews may be accurate but I can say that I have this on my slash with the proline lcg and its a must. First, the stock white servo saver does not fit between the servo and the side rail so I had to try it out with no saver and that ended poorly. On the proline lcg, it's pretty easy to adjust but keep in mind, everything in centralized on the chassis so it's not "perfect". I've only used it while racing one season on an indoor clay track and it gave me no problems. I'd traction roll before it washed out.
The truck has the proline lcg, rear diff, steering kit, shock towers and a castle 3800kc sct system. It's a great truck. Just not much of a Traxxas any more

If you still have the sloppy white plastic circle that is supposed to save your servo still on your two wheel drive slash then you are probably having issues driving in a straight line( if not many more lol). Especially if you run on pavement once in a while. This system is a much better design than that disk as it actually has a mechanical centering like in the associated T4. I have this steering rack on a heavily modded aluminum (ST Racing Concepts) slash and it puts up with some bad abuse at the track, as well as at home bashing around. Highly recomend this for an upgrade at a great price.

Pro-Line Performance Steering Kit
After browsing around to see what performance upgrades I could do to my slash to make it hang with the big boys, I decided to buy this first. I always felt my steering was really sloppy on my slash, and rustler I used to race, but its completely changed with this product. No more sloppy white servo saver, you can fine tune how tight or lose you want the steering by adjusting this racing style servo saver. The only reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars is I found it a bit pricey, compared to other options including aluminum bell cranks, but I highly recommend this to any serious racer driving a slash.
