This is the ParkZone Ultra-Micro P-51D Mustang Bind-N-Fly Airplane with the awesome AS3X stabilization system. If you’re looking for the most satisfying ultra micro Mustang experience available, this is your plane. For starters, it boasts a level of detail rarely seen in ultra-micro size models. With features that include molded panel lines, clear canopy, gun and exhaust details, pilot figure, instrument panel details and a 4-bladed prop, the P51D AS3X recreates the classic looks of the P51D in ultra micro size better than any micro version before it. Even the trim scheme is that of a full-scale Mustang that flew with the 334th Fighter Squadron during World War II.

In the air, its advanced AS3X® (Artificial Stabilization – 3-aXis) System will work behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of forces like P-factor, turbulence and torque. Instead of an ultra micro, you’ll feel like you’re at the controls of an expertly tuned, giant-scale model that flies like it’s on rails.

ParkZone Ultra-Micro P-51D Mustang Bind-N-Fly
This can't replace the challenge of flying a full sized plane with a 48 inch wingspan, but if you don't feel like driving to the hobby field, this is a plane you could fly in your neighborhood park. It only needs about 30 yards in two directions and 70 yards in the other two directions, something between the size of a football field and a basketball court. It makes tight turns and loops without loosing any speed... it does slow barrel rolls with some loss of altitude... flies upside down with some continual loss of altitude even with max elevator so remember if you get too low...barrel roll rightside up. Battery lasts 5 to 6 minutes, only costs $4, so get 10 of them. It's a beautiful plane and it's really cool to do a flybye at about 4 foot altitude... 10 feet from you... relatively easy to fly... easy to trim, stable in the air, can handle 1 to 2 knot winds... so light that if you lost control and cut the throttle it would slow down and just flop on the ground without breaking anything... easy as pie to land... easy toss into the air... this has a 16 inch wingspan, to get another battery charger I'm going to buy the Spitfire, also.. then later, the larger 22 inch Zero. or the bi-plane... if they made a FW 190 I'd buy that, too... bought a Spektrum 6i for $140... great transmitter... to bind put battery in plane... see blinking esc... flip trainer switch up and turn on transmitter... binds in 5 seconds or so... then for subsequent flights... turn on transmitter first, then put battery in plane and it will re-bind.

ParkZone Ultra-Micro P-51D Mustang Bind-N-Fly
I spent a few hours today flying this tiny plane in my backyard. I've got about 1.5-2 acres of cleared land and that is the perfect size for this model. The P-51D is extremely easy to fly and at 100% rates very agile. This is the perfect plane for someone who is just starting out because of the stability provided by the AS3X. But it's also fun for someone with experience who doesn't feel like lugging around all the stuff needed for a day at the flying field. You can just walk out your back door and fly, or go down the street to that vacant lot. Really you could fly this in an area half as big as I did and it would be no problem. Landings are a breeze because you can just get it low and slow and then cut the throttle and even if it stalls there's no damage at all. I love this plane. Total stress free fun.

ParkZone Ultra-Micro P-51D Mustang Bind-N-Fly
Excellent excellent plane! I fly my um trojan to bits and I love it but I have to say this little bird is my new fave. The way it flies is just amazing, easy to control and maneuver. Loops and rolls are easy and you just feel more confident flying it each time. Highly recommended!
