The Maclan 21.5 Turn MRR Team Edition V2 was developed to push stock racing to the next level. Based on the successful MRR Team Edition, the Team Edition V2 has been completely redesigned for today’s competitive stock class racing. From motor case structure and stator shape, to rotor and sensor unit, everything was redesigned for maximum performance potential.

Redesigned Stator with 100% Hand Winding Custom Wires
The Team Edition V2 has a redesigned stator shape in order to produce maximum horsepower. With custom-made copper wires and premium steel material in the stator, it provides maximum power with noticeable lower temperatures in extreme racing conditions.

Redesigned Sensor Unit & Rotor Alignment
The redesigned sensor unit improves the already impressive MRR sensor deviation accuracy. The updated rotor alignment method allows the sensors to be placed even closer to the rotor. The rotor has also been perfectly centered within the stator for maximum efficiency.

Light Weight Design with Maximum Safe Venting
Compared to the MRR Team Edition, the V2 has a significantly reduced weight, saving 14% (175g vs. 151g). This was achieved using more than large venting holes to protect the stator from foreign debris - the venting and cooling was optimized to maximize durability of the MRR Team Edition V2 motors.

Ultra High Torque Rotor and New Premium Ultra High Torque Rotor Option
The MRR Team Edition V2 comes with an Ultra High Torque (UHT) rotor (MCL4143) as standard equipment. There’s also an optional 12.50mm Premium Ultra High Torque (PUHT) rotor (MCL4144) as an option for your different application or needs.

NOTE: MRR Team Edition V2 rotors are completely redesigned. They are not interchangeable with original MRR & MRR Team Edition rotors.

Maclan MRR Team Edition V2 Competition Sensored Brushless Motor (21.5T)
Initial review - Very Happy with this motor. I havent raced it yet and i havent wound it out past 40 degrees timing yet, but it runs very cool and is in a B5 with a MAclan Pico blinky mode ESC and 31:72 gears (AVID Slipper clutch) to give FDR of 6.04. i get a bit more low end bite than previously with the current setup, so am waiting for race day to see if i will need to wind it out further, or adjust the throttle curve, but at the moment, it seems like the low end torque even in linear mode is advantageous to my driving style and i dont think that i have compromised top end speed. but time will tell.

Follow up review a year or so later.
I have purchased another exactly the same and both are running off the MAclan Pico 100A ESC, the initial combo is now onroad and doing fine. The new combo is off road and after upgrading the car from the B5 and putting the combo in a B6.1 factory lite, (which is perfect for stock racers). Several people were questioning how it was possible that i was going so much faster. These are experts and top stock racers who were doubting the turn specs and whether the ESC actually was blinky. That's how good this motor and combo is. I have the 13.5T in my AMAIN wish list waiting for when i get a new stadium truck. the only not even a problem down thing i will only say that it when it is wound up in the middle if summer it runs hotter than other 21.5T motors i have had, but never over 60C (around 150 F).

Maclan MRR Team Edition V2 Competition Sensored Brushless Motor (21.5T)
I have two of these motors now, a 13.5 in a Street Stock and a 21.5 in a touring car, and am very happy with their performance. Timing came set at 40* and I haven't changed it on either motor as they perform excellent right out of the box. Motor has quite a bit of low end torque and after a 6-8 minute run comes of the track just slightly warm. So far both motors have been extremely smooth and reliable with zero problems. Hoping once I move into the TC mod class I'll get the 5T Maclan motor. Very happy with Maclan motors, highly recommended.
