The Maclan DRK 160+ TSR Edition Drag Race ESC, is the next level in speed controller designed for mild to wild 2S drag racing. With this ESC, Maclan has given users the needed features, adjustments and specifications to provide powerful and reliable performance. The TSR edition ESC comes with an all aluminum case, adjustable throttle and brake PWM frequencies, advanced boost/turbo/over-boost systems, DRK super capacitor and more. Factory Profiles:
The DRK TSR ESC comes with six preset profiles designed specifically for 3.5T, 4.0T and 4.5T motors in low or high traction conditions. Select the profile that best suites the given application and fine tune to perfection. If needed, the user can reset these profiles to factory default settings using the optional ProLink or Maclan Link App.Data Logging:
The ESC logging function records both system data and motor parameters. When viewed on the optional Maclan Link App, the user will be given insight into the throttle position, motor RPM and ESC/Motor temperature. With this data, the user can make changes based on what is happening during the run with less guesswork.Programming Parameters:
A key feature of this ESC are the many programable changes that can be made. Thirty different parameters can be adjusted and tuned with extreme precision. These parameters are under five categories: General & Protection, Brake Settings, Throttle Settings, Advanced Timing Settings and 7-Stage Launch Power Control. With these parameters, you can set your ESC between a stock Drag Blinky mode or a Drag Open mode.NOTE: Advanced Timing Settings is an advanced feature that, if incorrectly used, can damage the ESC and/or motor. Be sure to monitor temperature systems in both ESC and motor carefully and adjust gearing as needed.

Maclan DRK 160+ TSR Edition Drag Race ESC
Never again will I use a Maclan ESC, this is the 2nd one I have purchased, this one last one day before the “blinking blue light” issue many are having. Worked for a few slow break-in passes around 3.0 range then stopped activating the motor. Receives signals normally with lights indicating it’s working, but while only move the motor for a 1/2 second in forward or reverse.
Maclan, your DRK has issues! Common issues! You need to address them immediately!!
You are aware of them and blame the end user, BS!!
I truly hope your company goes under for the junk you are selling people at ridiculous prices, then a no warranty replacement for $150 or $180 now…. This customer will not give you another dime!!

Maclan DRK 160+ TSR Edition Drag Race ESC
I purchased this esc 3 months ago and haven’t used it because Iv been building a car slowly. Well the car is finished and Iv been running a few packs through this thing nice and easily simply to line the car out back and forth just dialing it in so it tracks nice. I went back in and hooked the esc up to the Maclan software adjusted the tune for the first time and guess what, the esc is dead! The esc will run the fan but that’s it! If you look on FB Maclan page for example you will see a fellow or two with the same issue, the one guy heats his esc up and it comes back on , I tried it also still no luck. Maclan just told me in an email not 15 minutes ago that if the esc is 30 days old or less it’s covered under warranty otherwise it will be 130 to 140 bucks to fix it. I would normally eat the cost and get it fixed but it’s literally still new! I just got my castle mamba X 8s in lastnight so the drk will be chillin for a bit….

Maclan DRK 160+ TSR Edition Drag Race ESC
Picked up this DRK 160 speed control for my no prep drag car build. Shipping was fast But once I receive the speed control I had issues with it from the beginning. I finally got it to connect to my laptop and work somewhat properly. After owning it literally one week it has completely stopped working and MacLAN racing has failed to contact me back although reaching out to them multiple times to try and figure out what is wrong with it. Not very impressed

Unfortunate failure. my YouTube @myrclive . you'll see over the last two years I have used at least 50 other ESC's of various brands Such as Castle , Hobbywing , Trackstar , reedy and others .
Some had questionable origin and design and left you feeling good that it wasn't a faulty unit right out of the box .
Out of all of them this was the first unit that just seemed faulty (not having been subjected to my usual shinanagins yet ) , it did work more than one time though. Also out of factory warranty due to that . Although I have faith that, had I not unlocked it after the first day use they would probably have warrantied it.
I do suspect that this is not a common story with this ESC but unfortunate to me, it is mine. Thanks for reading and please use this post to make an educated choice about if you want to unlock your personal unit or if you even want to buy one now .

If you like to throw your money away then this is the ESC for you. It looks great but it absolutely is the worst purchase that you will ever make for No Prep Drag.

I have not received the speed control yet. There was an issue with the order originally as one of the items was back ordered, which i tried to cancel, but it deleted the entire order. your sales person rectified the issue and said the speed control would be on the way. - its still not here!

Built to sell not to last. Bought this straight from MaClan died in less than a week. The first phase quit working probably a cheap mosfet in the esc. There is no warranty and they won't accept any responsibility for a poor product. They offer to fix for a price.
