Losi Baja Rey 2.0 Ford F100 Heatwave Electric Desert Truck
Losi Baja Rey 2.0 Ford F100 1/10 RTR 4WD Brushless Desert Truck. The 1/10 scale Losi Baja Rey 4WD desert truck remains one of a kind with the only RC vehicle of its size with a true-scale suspension, and chassis layout with officially licensed body, wheels, and tires! When you see this desert beast in action with all its spectacular scale details, it's easy to imagine living out your own wildest desert racing dreams. the Baja Rey not only gets another body update but also significant design improvements underneath. The Baja Rey 2.0 is an even better Baja beast, performing like a champion on all types of desert terrain from trails to sand washes!
Like the previous version, the foundation of the Baja Rey 2.0 remains its strong 3mm aluminum chassis plate with a 2.5mm upper deck. Whether you're hitting the whoops, getting huge air, or just running wide open, the chassis keeps asking for more. From there, the platform now goes to the next level with updated front gearbox and rear axle designs, improved upper front arms and 4-link bars, an additional dampening shock, and more. Together, the changes mean more tuning ability, and even greater strength and durability in critical areas.
Losi worked with the Isenhouer Brothers, Ford, and Heat Wave Visual to let everyone become a part of the Isenhouer Racing Team. The brothers' passion for desert racing is captured in its officially licensed body, wheels, and tires, providing the perfect complement to the freshly updated platform's next-level performance. The square body, front grille, and functional round headlights match the full-size truck's late 1960s retro styling. Other molded details include the fire extinguishers, driver helmets, and interior. The officially licensed BFGoodrich KR3 tires are mounted on officially licensed Method 101 wheels. And the dual spare tires are fully functional!
With realistic and functional lighting that features a seven-light pod system and a rear red LED light strip, the Losi Isenhouer Brothers Ford F-100 Baja Rey 2.0 wants to keep playing even after the desert sunsets. You can get started almost immediately because it's ready-to-run with a feature-packed Spektrum Smart DX3 radio system and brushless power system that can handle (2S or 3S LiPo batteries - Sold Separately) with the power to fly across the desert at speeds of up to 50+mph!

I love the attention to details!!! Lights, lights, and more lights!
The Heatwave body is beautiful with stickers carefully placed; at least on mine!
Lots of attention to detail; very nice!
Electronics have worked very well, no problem except for some steering slop, but again, flying over rough ground…no problem!
Now the bad…the rear axle is a very vulnerable area of the truck!!!
It could definitely use a really good aluminum skid plate over that area; even the Kyosho Rampage Pro has a beefy aluminum plate standard! Please Losi, on your 3.0, please build us a really nice incorporated skid plate…please!
Finally, I know from previous reviews this has been an issue, availability of replacement parts; especially the rear axle!!! I broke mine and they won’t have stock in until sometime in May; it’s February 29th!!!
With all the other positives, it’s a shame to have availability of vulnerable parts an issue!
Would I recommend it? ABSOLUTELY!!’
Update: 6/2/24
I’m soooo very impressed with the Losi Baja Rey 2.0 since living with it for almost a year! Besides a broken rear axle, (my fault), two times stripped front diff screws, (design flaw), which an Exotek aluminum diff has since solved that problem, I’ve had nothing but excellent reliability and performance from this Trophy Truck!!!
The only things I would do before I ever ran a new one would be as follows: 1. Replace the front diff with an Exotek aluminum diff, (the front diff seems susceptible to stripping of the tiny screws). If you have the budget, replace all three diffs with the Exotek aluminum diff cases and live happily ever after! 2. Fill all diffs with diff fluid of your choice. I found, upon examination, the diffs to be very light of diff fluid; fill em up! 3. Get some Shoe Goo and put some around the wires coming out of the different light strips and bulbs. The wires, if broken, are almost impossible to solder back together. The shoe Goo will keep vibrations from eventually breaking the wire connection. 4. If you drive in fine sand, I would probably do it regardless of the dirt, put Shoe Goo over the vent hole in the wheel hubs. I destroyed my first two rear wheels by fine sand and dust getting into my wheels, bulking up their weight, and then causing the tire to part from the rim; essentially ruing the tires and foams! 5. Reinforce the body at critical stress points with either Gorilla tape, Shoe Goo, or your choice of reinforcement.
So far, in my personal experiences with this Trophy Truck, these are the only areas I’ve had any issues with!
Buy this Trophy Truck, buy two! Now be prepared for an amazing real scale Trophy Truck experience; Thank-you Losi!!!
