This is an optional HPI Racing 49 Tooth Steel Spur Gear, and is intended for use with the HPI Savage family of nitro trucks. This steel gear is precision machined to HPI factory dimensions and hardened for the ultimate in strength, long life and maximum durability. To keep the weight down, these steel gears are thinner than the stock plastic spur gear, and the center steel section is removed and replaced with a light weight purple anodized aluminum inner Spur Gear Hub (HPI86805, available separately).
IMPORTANT: Due to the extreme strength of these gears it is necessary that Savage owners upgrade their Clutch Bell to one of the Savage Racing Clutch Bells (HPI77103-77110). Standard clutch bells will wear out very quickly with these gears.
