This is the HPI D-Box 2 Adjustable Stability Control System. The HPI D-BOX 2 is developed for RC cars of all types - it's not just for drifters! From the Baja 5B to the Micro RS4 - the D-Box 2 is for you! - You can use the D-BOX 2 on slippery surfaces like wet paved surfaces, muddy conditions, loose dirt and wet clay tracks to give you perfect control in the turns. Simply connect the super-small D-BOX 2 between your receiver and steering servo for an amazing difference in your driving performance!

This makes the D-BOX 2 perfect for nitro racers, touring car drivers, Baja and monster truck owners, bashers and more!

Perfect for Drift Drivers!

The D-BOX 2 is the perfect item to help you get long drift distances and the perfect drift angle, for a dramatic improvement to your drift driving! Just change the Sensitivity Mode Switch to help alter your car's angle through the turns!

Massively Improved over the Original D-BOX!
The D-BOX 2 is a huge improvement on the earlier ground-breaking HPI D-Box. The original D-BOX has the capability of adjusting the gyro sensitivity. Steering response may be reduced, which will make the car more stable. In turn, it under steers when cornering.

While the first generation D-BOX cannot tell if the motion is coming from the car or radio, the D-BOX 2 has an amazing feature that improves response when the gyro sensitivity is increased (Patented steering operation priority system) using the Mode switches (see below). This priority system allows the steering inputs from the transmitter to have priority over the gyro. While the D-BOX 2 is perfect for all types of vehicles, this gyro correction is seen the most when used in high-powered off-road cars: increasing the throttle will not spin the car out, even in slippery conditions! The D-BOX 2 will also prevent sliding in sudden braking or steering.

Exclusive Sensitivity Mode Switch
The HPI D-BOX 2 allows you to set 4 sensitivity modes using 2 switches. Mode 0 has the characteristics of the original D-BOX, with gyro compensation present from the steering action provided by your radio signal. You can get more steering control and less gyro compensation as you change the modes up to Modes 1, 2 and 3 - if you want earlier steering response through the transmitter and less from the gyro, simply change the mode to a higher number. Test drive the different modes to find the optimal driving mode for your preference!

HPI D-Box 2 Adjustable Stability Control System
I was a ware that many hobbyists use mini gyro systems on their rc touring cars either for enhancing performance or just for fun, and since I was only addicted to 4wd buggies I didn't give any attention to this method until recently and several mothes ago when HPI announces their 2nd generation Dbox system ( Dbox 2 ) were released and indicated that this model will work even with off road cars including the massive size 1/5 Baja .

At that point I started thinking about getting one for one of my 1/8 scale electric buggies .
After waiting for monthes on the wait for back order at towerhobbies , I noticed that aman just put it in stock so I rushed and order it .

It comes in a perfect box made from good material paper, secured along with it two double sided Tapes, setting screw and manual .

So far I was pleased until I install it on my Tekno electric buggy which was equipped with all of the high ends motor, esc , servo and radio.

The surprise that I was shocked soon after few minutes after I relised that this gyro will not work on any 1/8 buggy nor logically on any 1/5 scale rc car as HPI advertise .
After several tests, resettings , calibration and wishes I recognize that this system is designed only for drift touring cars that must run at low rpm .

I totally disappointed, I thought that it will work as per the advertise , but it was not .
There's 4 setting depending on your setup , non of these setting work under the entire adjustment of the setting screw .

Thumps up :
1. High quality packaging .
2. Works great for drift Tarmac low rpm touring cars .

Thumps down :
1. Will not work with off road buggies .
2. It's 4 setting modes carried out by 2 switches which are very tiny and so hard to move , as you'll need a very tiny needle to switch them during choosing the right mode.
3. Will not work with high rpm high profile electric motors .
4. Will not keep up with high tourq servos .

I don't know what to say, for touring cars it deserve 5 stars , but with off road buggies it doesn't deserve a single star.
