The GooSky S2 Bind-and-Fly Micro Electric Helicopter has been designed to deliver high-performance aerobatic flight. Using an advanced flight controller, this helicopter can be both tame and fierce depending on how crazy you are with the sticks. This bind-and-fly model comes ready to be equipped with your GooSky T8 transmitter, however, using the optional adapters, you can bind this helicopter to a Futaba or Spektrum transmitter. Each helicopter has detailed wire management to keep everything free and clear in the air. The included 3S LiPo battery is perfect for everything from mild to wild flight. GooSky S2 BNF Micro Electric Helicopter (Green/Yellow)
Absolute badass machine! I purchased this heli stepping back into 3D flying after a 7+ year break from Heli's and flying all together. Paired with a Spektrum NX8 & Kensung DSMX satellite, it was super easy to get it setup.
Of the initial impressions, the fit and finish on the Heli is impressive. The carbon fiber, does not look cheesy or with a cheap feel, with a satin finish to the outer layer giving it a semi gloss look. The head assembly and entire swashplate is very nice. I like it a lot, not only for me being on the newer side having to re learn new FBL Heli's again, but for newer guys having the one piece links on the head assembly is great, no tiny turnbuckles or having to measure anything. The entire heli uses 1.5mm driver to work on it, with the exception of a small Philips screw driver to remove 4 screws when removing the canopy to access the FBL unit, aside from that it's all 1.5mm.
This heli does allow you to pair it to your phone to adjust the FBL unit. They include 1 Main shaft, 1 feathering shaft, 1 Goosky Lipo & The bluetooth module you connect into the FBL to pair it to your phone (Apple & Android). The app is great, it allows you to adjust settings in the FBL to tune the gyro, servo speed and agility which is great to have once you get more comfortable and want to fine tune it to your flying style of 3D or flying in general. It also has a mechanical mode where you can center your servos and adjust FBL trim to level your swashplate or have to do any servo setup. This came in handy as from the factory in Normal mode, Stunt 1&2 the swash was slightly crooked and causes the heli to drift in Normal mode, and also in Stunt 1&2. I used the app to correct the swash for stunt 1/2 as that's what's important to me, doing 3D and it fixed itself and now flys perfectly level and flat in a hover as expected. However in normal mode which is self leveling mode it's still crooked and causes the heli to drift. I wish Goosky would address this and work on shipping the S2's out with a better preset servo setup so people don't have to do this. But a few of my buddies that have the S2 almost all had to fix it for stunt 1/2 as theirs was not perfectly flat either. So It's a factory preset issues it seems. But not a deal breaker at all as it's a tiny drift and nothing that ruins the experience. Just keep an eye out for it when you are done setting it up.
This heli is overall in amazing machine! I have not flown in years and after some sim hours I was able to comfortably throw it around in rolls, punch outs and inverted maneuvers and it took all of it and asked for more. Running a 75 & 80% flat throttle curves for stunt 1&2 it's plenty agile on the higher head speed, very predictable and an awesome time to fly! If you do purchase this heli I suggest buying 1-2 extra Goosky lipos, as the 750mah packs do get you about 4-5 min worth of flying and I think once I start pushing more aggressive 3D I'll have to step the timer down to 3-4min flights.
Overall very happy with this heli! I think this is a great purchase for someone wanting to either learn 3D flying from 0, is already into 3D flight and wants to have a trainer heli to try new maneuvers on this Micro and not their big 420, 500+ size helis. I will for sure be using this heli as a trainer to try new maneuvers and to use for warm up flights once I move up into bigger SAB 420 Raws, SAB 580's. If you like smacking 3D or want a nice bang for the buck Micro this S2 Legend goes above and beyond.
