GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
Hi Scott - Thanks for purchasing one of my drill sets, and for taking the time to write a review. The pin vise included in the set includes two collets, and each collet has two ends with different clamping ranges - so a total of four collet sizes are included. Between those four sizes, every drill bit in the set can be gripped. The second collet is stored under the swivel on the other end of the pin vise - you may not have realized it was there.

Note - To submit this review, the software requires me to make a rating. I wouldn't ever just come on and rate my own products highly - I just wanted to see if I could help Scott out with the issue he raised.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
well? they were not bad? but they where off in sizes by quiet a bit,
as a Machinist for 35+ years you get to know the sizes :)
the 1.3, 1.35 1.4 and 1.5 sizes were considerably off
being 1.3 and the 1.35 was "Same Size" as the 1.3 was 1.33!?, the 1.4 was a 1.37 and 1.5 was a 1.56 (chinese knock offs?)

would have returned? however!! thinking GMK did there JOB "Correctly" i had guessed? i would not need to check?
the return window had passed?
but when came to use? they were off? saddly? i had to buy the same bits at Local Machine supply store.
which buying a whole set of ones made "Correctly" were Less in price! "Lesson Learned!!"

which if getting such items? would recommend just going to local Machine supply shops when you know the drill bits will be
the "Correct Sizes" and "DEAD ON correct size!!, so getting my 1.3 it "WAS" 1.3 and my 1.35 "WAS" 1.35 etc. etc.
and was Measured with Mitutoyo Tooling both digital and Veneer.
so for the price? they should have been "SPOT ON" but were not? or at least? the set i Purchased??

and the Pin vice? seen a few reviews on how it was not working? the Pin vice was "Ok'ish" it "Worked" not great? but it worked?
has collets need for the bits, "However"---it is cheap, slips baddly and wont hold bits per the size for collet for bit used, and often a wrench and Pliers are needed to "Crank the Holder" to hold said bit, so useless in the Feild "IF"!! you do not have extra "TOOLS" for the tool?? so makes no sense? again? at least for the "Set I Purchased" maybe there better now????
getting a pin vice from Mitutoyo, Starrett, Woodriver, even Tamiya!! be better and less in the Long run.

but best would be get a better one on say Amazon? or best yet, local Machine supply shop, and get a "Superior One" be bout 3.00 more? or so? but like any tool, will be much better.

again? i just thought "Eh? buy as whole set? its "Cheap" keep in RC tool case and no need to bring GOOD ONES i use to track?" again Lesson learned!!, it was "CHEAP" not Inexpensive! "CHEAPLY Made" i should have got off my Duff!! and purchased a Superior extra set from local Machine shop.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
Very nice set bits a very sharp and strong. There are two different adapter collects stored in the handle that have four sizes one on each end of the collect to fit all the drill bit size. Handle has a solid feel with a rotating top cap that help when applying pressure to cut thru your materiel. The bit must be lock in with the tightening nut very tight or the bit could slide down into the collect. I would recommend this product I like it and it got the job done well and very precise.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
I do not recommend this set, drills are not accurate on diameters.my 1.35 is .049 should be .053 ,my 1.4 is .050 should be .055.

Garbage. What I got doesnt look like the picture. Drill bits wont get tight in the chuck and one end of the pouch does not seal off so drill bits can fall out. If they fall out they are not marked by a color so get your calipers out otherwise you wont be able to tell.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
I purchased this drill bit set a while back and found them to initially work well. I was able to drill out some pistons to a bigger hole size without an issue. Drilling into blank pistons however, I had to use a drill press to get through them efficiently and the bits held up well. My biggest issue with this set is the inconsistent measurements of the bits themselves. The 1.20mm to 1.40mm were not accurate at all. They did not align with the correct labels. I found that the set was missing a true 1.40mm. I had to measure each one to know how much it was off. Turns out, almost all were off by approximately 0.01 to 0.03mm. Hard to recommend this set based on these inaccuracies.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
The quality of the drill bit is good. They cut through plastic pistons without leaving any burs.
But the size isn't good. I found out that my 1.50mm drill is actually 1.60mm after drilling expensive MIP Bypass1 pistons. And a lot of other drills are a different size than what's stated on the packing. So kinda disappointed in that.
For example, it's jump from 1.41mm to 1.58mm. I don't have a 1.45mm drill and 1.50mm drill. A 1.25mm drill bit is also missing. I have 2x a 1.15mm instead :/

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
This kit is complete junk. I attempted to drill through a blank piston with the hand drill holder and the bits would not cut through the delrin piston. The drill I received does not have the hex on one end to apply pressure so you are not getting what is pictured. The bits are very poor quality and not split tips so the best they will do is open up an existing hole. The bigger issue is the 1.25 and 1.30mm bits were missing. I received 2ea of the 1.2 and 1.35mm instead. You would think the person packaging these kits could have a set of calipers handy to ensure they send the correct size bits. Do not waste your money and time to return this kit. Just order the drill sizes you need on Amazon and call it a day.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
Perfect set of drills to do pistons of any size. And all the correct parts are there, you just need to be smarter than the tool. There is no reason anyone should give this anything less than 5 stars. I was even able to chuck the handle up in my drill to speed the process of drilling the holes out.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
I could not get the collets tight enought to actually hold the bits in place, the hand drill piece is also different than pictured. And yes I used all four collets.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
To echo other's views on this item, the drill bits are fantastic and the little case they come in is extremely useful. However the pin vise leaves a lot to be desired. You can widen the collet a bit in order to accept the in-between sizes but it is a bit frustrating to do so. I would prepare to buy a different pin vise to complement this kit. Otherwise it did what I needed it to do, once I manually widened the collet.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
Just want to add another confirmation that there is nothing wrong with this kit. The people having problems must have missed the fact there is another collet in the handle. I just used mine, and tried many different sizes without issue. Very impressive quality considering the cost and completeness of this kit.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
Guys..the manufacturer is completely right here. Everyone seems to be a little quick to leave negative feedback on this item. The collet that fits the rest of the bits is located in the handle. This then provides four (4) separate collets that will fit every bit included in this kit. The kit is perfect. Everything included to take care of pretty much every metric piston hole you'd want to drill. Nice product that comes with a nice little pouch and zip lock bag to hold everything in. Don't be afraid to buy it based off of the previous negative reviews. Gotta be smarter than the tools you use.

I have the same issue as the two people that already reviewed the product.

There is only one side of the supplied collets that accept the drill sets, a shame.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
The drill bits are great! As it was mentioned before the hand drill seems to have trouble with bits in the in between sizes.

For the 1.6, I used the 2nd largest collet and hand tightening held in in place but when I tried to use it, the bit slid.

I needed to use an adjustable wrench and a needle nose plier to get it tight enough. Which of course, left marks on the handle. Not a big deal, but a little annoying.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
The drill bits in 0.5mm increments are great!!! The let down is the hand drill which does not accept ANY of the supplied bits that i needed to use. It seems that to suit drill bits sized between about 1.2mm and 1.5mm, neither collet will work as the nut to secure the bit will not reach the thread to allow it to be tightened... Great bits, poor design of drill.

GMK Supply "Hole Thing" - Metric Shock Piston Drill Set
I normally don't bother with reviews, but this thing is junk. Like others have said, the drills are fine, but the pin vice/handle thing is COMPLETELY useless. It comes with 4 collets and none of them fit the 1.4 to 1.8mm drill sizes. The sizes I use most often. I see the manufacturer left a 5 star review saying that there were 4 collets and the other reviewer must not have known that. Well, I'm telling you the collets are not sized right and the ones that do fit are so poorly made that the holes in them are not straight and the drill wobbles so bad i can't even imagine trying to make a precision hole with it. Complete junk! Just avoid this unless all you want is the actual drills. I wish I could give zero stars.
