FMS Avanti V3 70mm EDF PNP Electric Jet Airplane Kit (900mm)

Excellent airplane! It is simple to build, take less than 30 minutes to assemble. It's a hotrod, fast and aerobatic. The flaps and shock absorbing landing gear make it a piece of cake to land. Amain Hobbies was excellent in filling my order. I placed my order on a Monday and it arrived from California to Florida in 4 days.

The V3 of the FMS avanti is a great model. The upgrade to the trailing link landing gear being a worthwhile upgrade. It has plenty of power on a high C rated battery

I am an intermediate pilot and have other Avanti's, this one being smaller is a bit more responsive than the 80mm by FW, & perhaps a little less stable but flies great as the airframe is known for. Things can happen pretty quickly as its small and nippy so you need to keep your wits about you, and it gets small quickly if you let it get too far away as is the way of 70mm at full speed. it lands well and at my grass field after many landings no issues with the LG. It will land slow with half flap and havn't found any bad stall characteristics though I seem to lose a little elevator authority landing at full flap for flaring

I only gave it 4 stars as the first time out in my case, mid-summer, the black canopy got so hot it melted and sagged down (deformed) due to air inside it heating up I guess like an oven and melting the canopy material

Maybe not as forgiving as some for a first EDF but a great model overall if you need something small to easily carry or for smaller battery packs than a 80mm or 90mm would require.

The plane flies very well. But you need to be a very good pilot and have a great time. But if you bump it a little, it will be damage

I bought 2 of these from A Main Hobbies and both came with some kind of damage on them from factory
First one had a big gouge in the wing and the second one had damaged flaps be careful when you get your plane and check it for Quality because the plane itself is designed very well and flies well
Assembly of the plane is a snap the landing gear is very good

Package arrived damaged both by United Package Smashers as well as by AMAIN Hobbies. Upon inspecting the the Avanti that arrived I notice a big gash in the outside carton. I lift up on it slightly and can clearly see it has gone all the way through into the carton on the inside. I look over the rest of the box and see no other damage at all. I then open the box up and to my surprise the box has a full length cut right down the middle of it. It was clear that what had happened is that someone had cut through the tape on the box before, cutting to deep and cut into the carton. The tape on the box was never cut on this box so it had to have happened before it was shipped to me. The inside carton also had another huge hole in it and this one went into the wing of the Jet. The outside carton again had no damage where this inside damage was at.

I am pretty sure I was shipped something that someone else returned, and that really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I would have asked for a replacement, but instead I reordered through MotionRC and went with the Freewing Avanti S. It might have cost me more money but I don't have to worry about what it is I am buying. Trust factor goes a long way, and when you lose trust in who you are buying from you need to move on to someone you feel comfortable with. I asked for a return call from a manager and never heard back from anyone so I guess that shows me how much customer concerns mean to them. AMAIN - you are not the 900 lb gorilla in this industry so stop acting like the new Horizon Hobby. Try caring about your customers.
