Maker Foam is a new foam board material developed by Flite Test to be the ultimate rapid build material. The culmination of 8 years of evolution Maker Foam is the superior material for creating not only model aircraft but every kind of DIY project including rapid prototyping. The new facing material (paper backing) is now bright white and is designed to take paint or decals extremely well. Now all of your models and designs can start with a base color of white which is much easier to have a beautiful model when adding a simple trim scheme using stickers or pinstripes. The new material is also somewhat translucent allowing it to be creatively lit from within by LED for better orientation while flying at dusk. In addition to being waterproof Maker Foam is also more durable than previous Flite Test foam products.
Previous Flite Test foam board came in single 30x20 sheets, however Maker Foam, although it ships in a 30"x 20" box,  the sheets unfold into 30"x 40" sheets. This gives you twice the surface area for larger builds!

Flite Test Maker Foam White 30x40 BiFold (25 Pack)
Maker Foam is worst than dollar tree foam!!
Trying to build the "Flite Test Edge 540" that I purchased. It was supplied in the new white "Maker Foam". The paper is not adhering to the foam very well. It is also not very water resistant. While carefully removing parts from laser-cut "Maker Foam" sheets, paper is coming loose from the foam. Also, the "Maker Foam" has the same ripples in the surface that the older brown foam had.
Have had to remake some parts from brown foam due to paper not staying on the "Maker Foam" parts. Dropped a few drops of water on the foam board while drinking from a water bottle. Wiped up the drops, but the paper swelled up where the water had been.
I ended up scrapping the partly built "Edge 540" and started over with all brown Adams foam parts cut from sheet.
This is not my first foam board plane. I have built 3 Bushwackers, 1 Storch, 3 Viggens, 2 Sea Ducks, 2 Simple Cubs, a scratch built foam board plane from Midwest Aerostar 40 plans.
I truly think that the "Maker Foam" was a mistake.
