This is the E-flite UMX PT-17 Bind-N-Fly Electric Airplane. Developed as a trainer for the U.S. Army during WWII. After the war, many served as crop dusters and were fitted with high performance radial engines that doubled their horsepower. In fact, hundreds of PT-17 biplanes are still in use today! In addition to its durability, its easy to fly characteristics helped make it a true aviation treasure that is cherished by vintage airplane fans around the world.

The E-flite UMX PT-17 is modeled after the beautiful PT-17 owned by Pat Hartness, founder of the Joe Nall event held at Triple Tree Aerodrome, in South Carolina. This fully assembled model can be ready to fly in the time it takes to charge the battery. From the unmistakeable outline, to the cylinder fins on the dummy radial engine, scale detail can be seen throughout. The result is an impressive looking model that offers full four-channel control for great handling on the ground and the maneuverability to perform scale aerobatics.

The advanced AS3X (Artificial Stabilization – 3-aXis) system built into the Spektrum 6-channel ultra micro receiver is what helps give the UMX PT-17 an incredibly solid look and feel in the air. It’s technology that works behind the scenes to help counter the effects of wind and turbulence by combining 3-axis sensing with exclusively tuned flight control software. As a result, your workload to fly smoothly is significantly reduced while control feel is always rock-solid so you can make maneuvers like low and slow passes laser-straight. It’s an impressive flight experience that will have you feeling like you’re at the controls of a much larger, expertly-tuned airplane.

All you need to start flying the UMX PT-17 is a 4+ channel transmitter with Spektrum DSM2®/DSMX 2.4GHz technology.

E-flite UMX PT-17 BNF Electric Airplane (388mm)
I am 12 yrs old and have just purchased a UMX PT-17 along with a DX6e. I really like the aircraft and how it performs. The only problems I had was that the rear windscreen came off and the battery has a hard time staying on the aircraft. I think it is a great aircraft.

E-flite UMX PT-17 BNF Electric Airplane (388mm)
E-Flite manufactured by PT-17 is a two models first in the company. For the same painting the upper class, with thick paint, the But weight is heavy, strong lift for the biplane, it will fly well.
In fact, in feeling that I was flying, without feeling the weight, we were able to carry out the lightly rising and turning.Airplane to make the E-Flite, I was impressed to have can always well.
Settings of AS3X is, different from the Coursair, towards the PT-17 is the stability-oriented.
If you try to to elaborate maneuver, it may be a hindrance to the Gyro. However, it is a natural of AS3X that have been adjusted very well intervention usually.
This airplane, beginners, and I can enjoy professional.
For me, it became very favorite airplane. I want to let them be forever flight.
