This Castle Sidewinder SCT Waterproof Combo includes the Sensored 1410 3800Kv Motor and is a great choice for 1/10 scale short course trucks up to 6.5 pounds on 2S, as well as 1/10 buggies and trucks up to 4 pounds on 2 or 3S.

The Sidewinder SCT is Castle’s solution for anyone who needs an unbeatable combination of power and affordability in a special edition controller and motor combo made for Short Course Truck racing. While the sensored capabilities of the motor cannot be utilized with the Sidewinder SCT, users will benefit as the sensored motor is rebuildable, and this design even allows modelers to replace damaged motor wires. The Sidewinder SCT Combo will give you great response and performance right of the box!

The ESC (electronic speed control) offers power to spare at 2-3S LiPo, and a waterproof case that can perform in just about any environment.

NOTE:

  • Not intended for operation while submerged in liquid. If unit is operated in wet conditions, rinse with fresh water to remove dirt or corrosives, then fully dry unit.Although Sidewinder SCT and Castle brushless motors are waterproof, they are not intended for operation while completely submerged in liquid. They can corrode when exposed to corrosive materials, such as salt water. Always rinse the ESC and motor with clean water after exposure to corrosives or dirt. While the motor and controller may be waterproof, we suggest users confirm that the rest of their vehicle, including the batteries, servos, radio and chassis are also waterproof before exposing them to liquids of any kind.
  • The cooling fan must be removed prior to driving in wet conditions. It is not waterproof.
  • Sensored capabilities of the motor cannot be utilized with the Sidewinder SCT. If you require sensored operation you will need a sensored ESC like the Mamba X. The Mamba X paired with the same motor can be found here.

Castle Creations Sidewinder SCT Waterproof Combo w/Sensored 1410 Motor (3800Kv)
We are super happy with this setup. We bought this ESC motor combo about 5 years ago and its been in 2 cars since, running 2S LiPo. Great power, cool running, totally waterproof (we drive in snow a lot). Fried the switch once but that was an easy repair. After 5 years, the ESC finally gave up (we heard a pop and smoke came out). We are giving 5 stars because of Castle's awesome customer service! We sent it back once because we were having an electrical problem and they gave it a full diagnostic for free and sent it back to us (ended up being a radio problem). Second time, they replaced the ESC and charged us a very fair price for an upgraded Sidewinder 4.

Castle Creations Sidewinder SCT Waterproof Combo w/Sensored 1410 Motor (3800Kv)
I bought this to breathe new life into my old RC10T from the 80s for my daughter to drive. Power and speed is great. The only thing I didn't like was that after using it for about a day while we were camping the switch went out. Basically the ESC would no longer turn on. What I ended up doing was to cut the switch out and permanently solder the wires together. Overall I'm happy with the performance of the ESC motor combo but I wish Castle would use a better quality switch.

Castle Creations Sidewinder SCT Waterproof Combo w/Sensored 1410 Motor (3800Kv)
Great motor! Problem is the shaft is much shorter than stock. Super hard trying to line up pinion with spur gear, unless there is something I am doing wrong.

Castle Creations Sidewinder SCT Waterproof Combo w/Sensored 1410 Motor (3800Kv)
Good setup but just weird to sell a sensored motor with a sensorless esc. But the system works absolutely flawless, good purchase!

Castle Creations Sidewinder SCT Waterproof Combo w/Sensored 1410 Motor (3800Kv)
Bought this for a 4Tec project, this is an impressive motor and esc setup! I already had the Castle bluetooth link so programming only took a few seconds and I was on the road. Using 3S on this with no issues. Easy to use and great quality.

Castle Creations Sidewinder SCT Waterproof Combo w/Sensored 1410 Motor (3800Kv)
I bought this motor and unfortunately did not check for shaft play before installing. I ran the motor one time and destroyed the spur gear. When I inspected the motor I found a huge side to side shaft movement that clearly caused the spur gear failure. Regardless of the issue happening after a half run on 2s or new out of the box I have to say I feel negatively about this product.
