This is the Castle Creations Sidewinder 3 Waterproof 1/10 Sport ESC/Motor Combo with an included Neu-Castle 1406 5700kV motor. Castle’s Sidewinder ESC is now waterproof! The Sidewinder 3 can power crawlers on water filled trails, SCTs in rain soaked parking lots, and AWDs on rips through muddy fields. Drivers can follow their irresistible urges to drive in the mud or stomp their truck in puddles without damaging their ESC.

Designed for 1/10th
The Sidewinder 3 is a great fit for 1/10th off-road, on-road, and rock crawlers running up to 3S LiPo. It features updated circuitry for faster response time and improved reliability. As always, the Sidewinder 3 offers industry-leading software functions and USB programming capability via Castle Link USB adapter (sold separately). NOTE: This ESC is recommended by Castle for rock crawler applications. However, the motor included in this combo is not suited to rock crawling applications.

Legal mumbo jumbo
Although Sidewinder 3 and Castle brushless motors are waterproof, always rinse the ESC and motor with fresh water after exposure to corrosives or dirt. While the motor and controller may be waterproof, we suggest users confirm that the rest of their vehicle, including the batteries, servo, radio and chassis, are also waterproof before exposing them to liquids of any kind.

Neu-Castle 1406 Motor
Everyone wants more power. So how could Castle improve upon the incredibly powerful CM36 series? Work with motor guru Steve Neu to change the motor from a slotless design to one with a 1.4 inch diameter slotted stator. Then change the single neodymium rotor magnet from a 2 pole donut to a 4 magnet, four pole rotor for more torque. Throw in improved manufacturing, high quality bearings and a removable end bell and you have the 1406 series of high performance motors from Castle. The end result is a motor that cranks out 30% more torque with the efficiency and durability that Castle is known for. These motors are bolt in upgrades for most all sensorless 1/10 applications and are available in the now-standard ratings of 4,600kV, 5,700kV, 6,900kV and 7,700kV.

NOTE: This ESC is recommended by Castle for rock crawler applications. However, the motor included in this combo is not suited to rock crawling applications.
