This is the optional Avid RC "Mod" Triad Slipper Clutch. The Avid Triad Slipper is a compact system that uses 3 vented drive plates and 3 slipper pads to provide a more consistent driving feel, longer clutch life, and reduced rotating mass. The Triad delivers 20% more torque capacity in a smaller package, with lower rotating mass and will not suffer from lock-ups due to high pressure like other slipper systems. The Triad slipper has been tested by World Champions and they all agree that the Triad is the future. So if you want the best performance from your Associated or TLR 22 vehicles pick up a Triad and feel the difference.

Features:
  • Includes updated vented self centering slipper plates!
  • Smoother throttle brake feel in jumps and turns
  • Compact, lightweight 3 plate design (Triad: 11.2g vs Stock: 16.49g)
  • Longer clutch life, less maintenance

Avid RC "Mod" Triad Slipper Clutch (81T/84T)
I have used the Avid Triad slipper for a few years. This new version with the vented plates take the slipper to a new level of consistency. I highly recommend this for stock or mod. I have run this slipper in my 2wd Kyosho, Team Associated and Team Losi cars/truck.

What Avid fails to tell you on the 44.2 is you also need a 2$ spacer. http://www.amain.com/avid-rc-triad-b44.2-spacer/p273206
The Desc for the kit really NEEDS to tell the buyer that the spacer is needed for the 44.2. No where on the Card that comes with it says the spacer is needed. The Desc on the part doesn't say it either. I could have added this 2$ part when I did my big AMAIN order. Now my b44.2 will be down for this week-end. ;(

Great part! Set it and it stays consistent lap after lap. Much, much better than the stock AE slipper.

Avid RC "Mod" Triad Slipper Clutch (81T/84T)
I was hesitant to switch to the Triad slipper but must tell you all that it is the best thing going for 2wd buggy, stadium truck, or SC. Get the red pads or the garo-discs from RCShox, too. This slipper has almost infinite adjustment when mixing and matching different slipper pads. My 22 and 22SCT are entering and exiting turns better than ever. I have more torque than I have ever had, too.

Avid RC "Mod" Triad Slipper Clutch (81T/84T)
I run this on my B4.2 and B44.2 and the power delivery is super-smooth. It feels like the car actually has more traction.
