The Avid LiPo Voltage Checker is a great way to check the voltage of your 2S-8S battery. Check the voltage by plugging the black wire of balance port to the left side of the checker. The checker will display the voltage on a red LVD screen and loop through individual cell voltages.

Avid RC LiPo Voltage Tester (2S - 8S)
Nice tester. Recommended.
Pros:
Easy to use since the top and bottom js obvious it's easy to plug in your balance plug correctly every time. Some cheap testers you always plug in backwards first (I have 2) because they have no top/bottom orientation. Not a problem here.
It cycles quickly through the readings - some testers start off with cell count etc" and pause for what feels like eternity when you just want to know the voltage. This one is a nice speed and gets to the info quickly.
Price - surprsingly being AVID this same tester isn't any cheaper elsewhere, but it is just a rebadged Chinese tester available in many places.
Cons:
One huge con (for me) - when you first plug it in, it emits a horribly loud BEEP.
Some might like that (not sure why) but for me it's terrible as I regularly am working on RC stuff at night when I need to be quiet. I might see if I can cram tape over the top to quiet it down or maybe open the case and disable the beeper.
Also, I believe if your voltage is under a set limit it will also wail super loudly, as if the readout isn't enough information...
