Speaking of performance, the Ares P-51D offers full 4-channel control right out of the box along with a factory installed 350 brushless motor that together combine to provide smooth, yet agile flight performance that’s perfect for both scale and aerobatic flying. The unique airfoil design of this Mustang also allows for improved handling at lower speeds making it a great model for pilots looking for their first warbird. Plus, the advanced EPO foam airframe is lightweight, durable and easy to repair, which comes in handy when you have an occasional rough landing.

The Ares P-51D Mustang 350 RTF includes a 350 brushless motor, a 15-amp brushless ESC and three 9-gram sub-micro servos. Ares P-51D Mustang 350 Electric Airplane RTF
Purchased this RTF plane a few months ago. It flies fantastic for the price. I gave up on wheel landings;just to nose heavy for me... Took my eye off it for a few seconds and lost track of it mistaking it for a bird in the distance (crazy I know) thinking I lost all transmission..Found the plane about 100 yards plus completely in tacked except for broken prop and cracked and scrunched nose...Amazed of the durability and foam thickness and strength of this product!!!.Got out the glue and and packing tape to keep the shape while glue dried...Test flew and was amazed it still flew great...but had to use the 4 blade prop seeing I broke the 2 blade, so of course the 4 blade broke first time seeing I only do grass landings....Regardless ordered a few more 2 blade props and eager to fly it some more, once again ;grass landings with 2 blade prop is the only way I would fly this plane personally. Will but again for sure if neccesary!!!

Ares P-51D Mustang 350 Electric Airplane RTF
Pros: It is easy to assemble. It looks good. It is lite and makes for a good belly lander, without the gear and the two blade prop installed. Nice speed for its size. Nice handling. Has a nice slow flight for landing and just admiring as it goes by.
Cons: Locating spare parts. Locating spare battery this size. Right wing was bent a little at the tip, straight out of the box. The elevator screws dont give the elevator a real snug fit, I added some clear tape for backup. You have to watch the battery cover latch especially if you belly land for it will come unlatched. Did I already mention parts and spare batteries?
All in all it is a decent plane especially for park flying and belly landing, I would purchase again.

Ares P-51D Mustang 350 Electric Airplane RTF
I am a beginner/intermediate flyer, and I have a lot of trouble with the trim. So far all of my flights have lasted for a good 30 seconds. Only had to buy a replacement 4 bladed prop. Boy are they fragile! But I could really use some help with my trim problem. Other than that, a beautiful plane. Very easy to assemble, im going to turn to the Ares Decathlon 350 to practice before flying again. (UPDATE) Had my first successful flight. Very beautiful to fly during the sunset!

Ares P-51D Mustang 350 Electric Airplane RTF
I was given one of these a few weeks ago as a gift. Wonderful little plane, for the most part. It really looks good and is a piece of cake to assemble. Had to adjust the linkages right off the bat since control surfaces were no where near neutral once servos were zeroed, but that is easy enough to do. First flight she took off straight and level, I don't think I trimmed this plane even 1 click from the get go, I couldn't believe it. I was very impressed, flew very smoothly, did exactly what it was told with no argument what so ever. I was/am very pleased with this plane, it could be a little faster but all in all it is a joy to fly. Now that was the positive...Now for the, lets say, not so positive. This little bird is nose heavy as all get out! I am flying it with a 3S 450mah battery which is barely half the weight of the recommended battery and she is still heavy as #@&* up front. In order for me to balance this Mustang like it should be balanced it would require 23 grams of lead near the elevator hinge line, and THAT'S with the small 450mah battery! Now that doesn't effect how she flies but it does effect how she lands. Once you cut the throttle this plane falls like a passenger airliner, and either rips the landing gear mount from the bottom of the wing as soon as she touches ground or, if your lucky, just noses over upon landing resulting in a broken prop. One of these two things has happened to me easily 3 out of 5 landings for the fist 10 or 15 attempts. This just breaks my heart. How can someone build and market such a nice little plane in both appearance and flight categories only to have the whole experience tarnished by such miserable landing tendencies? It really is a shame. Because of this and this alone, I have to rate this little bird somewhere between 3 and 3 1/2 stars, and that makes me sad.
