VRP 1/8 Aluminum Shock Stand w/Parts Tray & Storage Pouch (Black)

Great stand. Nicely machined. Not tall enough for for .3 and beyond Tekno 1/8 scale rear shocks.

Update: you can purchase an xl long leg/post VRP1266 for longer shocks. Wish they sold this as a stand option. This is the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars.

Stand seems solid. Note it is not all metal like the pictures show, it is carbon fiber on top and the base plate. The vertical piece connecting the top and bottom is aluminum. The 1/8 scale version fits Traxxas GT-Maxx Shocks. Took one star off for long back order and for pics not matching what you get, stand seems decent otherwise.

Darryl's review is 100% correct. Part no. VRP1258 is NOT the aluminum stand anymore, at least as packaged for me this time. Just received mine and it's carbon fiber, it IS the "V2" stand VRP makes but under a different part number. HOWEVER - you're getting the BETTER shock stand which costs more, at a lower price by buying this part number. The V2 stand is actually the better stand. Save $7 on the V2 stand and buy this one to get it cheaper.

Changing shocks out was a pain until I got my VRP shock stand holder. I would always knock my shocks over because I would use a shock spring to hold my shocks.

This makes working on shocks so much easier! I don't know how I managed without it!

*UPDATED - As of 4/22/2017

We have updated this Shock Stand to have the XL Post as the stock post. So it will work with all Buggy and Truggy shocks right out of the bag. And the finish has been upgraded from a matte finish to a fine brushed aluminum finish.

The 10th Scale version has also been updated with a longer post (to fit 10th trucks), as well as the fine brushed aluminum finish.

I was pretty disappointed when I got this. It is not aluminum. It is carbon fiber and plastic. The plastic is cracked where the brass threaded insert was put in. The felt pieces they sent to fit the tray inserts are too big. There are no holes in the stand for the shock shafts like the picture.

Best shock stand to date! Amazing finish, and great machine work! Love the etching and silver accents.
