The Beechcraft Model D17 Staggerwing from Rage R/C provides smooth, capable flight performance (either indoors or outdoors in light winds) that's ideal for experienced pilots due to extremely light wing-loading. This model faithfully captures the character of the original D17 with scale features that include a highly-detailed radial engine, a full- symmetrical airfoil wing design with rib details, flying wires, an authentic scale trim scheme, flaps, and retractable landing gear.
The Beechcraft Model D17 comes fully assembled as an RTF (Ready-To-Fly). Everything needed to fly comes is included in the box. All of the electronics are pre-installed in the scale airframe, such as a 4-in-1 control board, individual servos to control the ailerons and retracts, and a 2.4GHz transmitter that conveniently charges the included 1S 200mAh LiPo battery. Even the AA batteries needed to power the transmitter are included, so the maiden flight of this amazingly detailed, historic airplane can become a reality within minutes of opening the box!

RAGE Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing Micro RTF
Piece of Junk! Don't Buy!!!
Despite the bad reviews on other sites, I bought the RAGE Model 17 because the Staggerwing is my favorite plane of all time. The elevator servo didn't work on the first model I received, but AMain customer service was totally cool to take it back and pay the return shipping. The second Staggerwing I received worked on the ground, but as soon as I throttled up to take off, the engine made a funny sound and the thrust dropped to almost nothing. The plane could taxi, but not take off. The prop is powered by two brushed motors through a gearbox, and I think one of the motors died after 30 seconds of operation. It's such a pretty airplane I'm going to keep it, but it's just a display model now.
Aside from the absolute Crap that Rage calls quality control, Rage RC should NOT sell this as an RTF only. They should at least have the option of DSMX BNF so you can program in rates and expos with your own transmitter. Everyone I read online who actually made it into the air said the Rage RTF transmitter was junk. Those who didn't crash immediately swapped out the Rage guts with EFlite UMX electronics.
If you just want a pretty model, buy the airframe only package. If you want to fly, DON'T BUY THIS!!
