Losi 48P Pinion Gear (3.17mm Bore) (17T)
This is one extremely solid pinion. I run it on my Rustler whenever I'm at the track on a hot day. For me, on a hot summer day at the track, a 17/90 pinion/spur is a great combo to keep my battery packs within their temp limits while the 17/90 still gives me ample top end and plenty of torque for the track I run on. The quality of this Losi pinion is every bit as great as Traxxas 48p pinions. And there are no fit issues. Goes right on and stays on.

Losi 48P Pinion Gear (3.17mm Bore) (31T)
This pinion was manufactured out of round considering the drilled shaft hole is off center. The hole was slightly larger than the motor shaft causing it to come off easily during operation. When tuning pinions on my new JC Concepts 90 tooth spur ($10 nice one), I left the tranny gear cover off for easy switching. That was a mistake, as the pinion lies somewhere in a grassy ditch area full of iron. Metal detecting for it brought up nothing. I've had no issues with Traxxas or the other popular Racing brand. They stay put. The reason I'm also giving this pinion a lower review is because it was not advertised or labeled on the package as being a NARROW thickness. My spur gears are standard 48p thickness and I avoid narrow pinions if I'm informed about them. It was said that Losi pinions are the best, but I'm not convinced yet. I've got several others to try.
