Javelin. A machine that redefines what it means to be the best.
After more than 30 years since the original release in 1986, this electric off-road competition model has been recreated as the sixth model in the Kyosho Vintage Series.
Incorporating a resin pipe-frame body resembling the innovative aluminum pipe frame body of the 1/8 scale Land Jump engine powered buggy, the Javelin features the proven performance of double wishbone suspension with a narrow backbone-style skid frame that delivers ideal geometry for wide-angled steering. This combines with the Javelin's superior sealed compartment 4WD chain-drive system to produce excellent performance and durability. At the heart of the external features that faithfully represent the image of the Javelin of 30 years ago, this Vintage Series version is packed with modern racing performance potential and is compatible with modern power sources.
At the heart of the drive system is a counter gear equipped with slipper function and a final gear case made from metal to strengthen its load bearing capacity. The adoption of precision 48-pitch gear modules reduces power loss and the optimal combination of nylon and sintered alloy delivers both improved drive efficiency and reduced noise. In addition to chain drive, the drive system can also be changed to a belt system, which was optional in the original model. Also, the large diameter aluminum shocks, recreated in the original design, combine with long stroke suspension to deliver increased performance potential.

- One-piece wheels replicate the original stylish design while delivering a reduction in weight.
- Velcro type battery stay (including battery straps printed with Kyosho logo) is compatible with various batteries and allows easy installation and removal.

I have ordered this car and I loved it! It assembles perfectly, all parts suit amazingly well, looks amazing too. I have used it for a couple of times and I was very impressed with the performance, runs extremely well and goes fast!

Add Optima's front and rear sway bars and Optima's universal swingshafts on the front axle to get an almost perfect re-release buggy.
A lot of fun to drift around in light snow or on wet road, provided one's using waterproof electrical components...

Kyosho Javelin 1/10 4WD Electric Buggy Kit
Probably the best vintage rerelease ever. Kyosho really did an awesome job making this kit better than the original without changing the entire appearance.
This kit plus a 13.5 brushless motor is about perfect - just fast enough to be fun and not so much power it breaks and wears everything out. I've ran mine for several hours on a 20x40 track and other than chassis wear it still looks and feels new.
Shocks are great, the diffs are awesome, and the fit and finish of the whole kit is very good. I highly suggest this if you want something old school to build that's also going to be fun to drive.
I love Tamiya kits but this car feels much better, almost like a modern 4WD racer. The spike tires give great forward traction and are perfect for a backyard garden track.

Kyosho Javelin 1/10 4WD Electric Buggy Kit
My first R/C vehicle was a Kyosho Javelin back in 1986, so I absolutely had to buy one. I am not disappointed in any way. Kyosho has updated every weakness the original javelin had. The drivetrain is 48 pitch with a slipper clutch, the materials the entire thing is made of is improved, and the instructions are typical Kyosho, which is excellent. I love this thing.

Kyosho Javelin 1/10 4WD Electric Buggy Kit
I built this over Christmas break and have been having fun with it over the last few months. It is a blast. The 4WD really improves the handling and it is so much fun. It's fantastic kit and the instructions were crystal clear. It's a beautiful car!
