Flite Test M8 DC Charger (8S/15A/300W)
First one I received dumped a small amount of smoke when I tried the PWM testing on a servo. Went to balance charge a battery an on the first run I had a runaway thermal issue. It seems the code in the doesn't seem to track the temperature, and when reaching the end of the storage cycle run, begins just running off. I had it set to discharge at 3amps, and literally have a picture of it drawing 8+ amps to the internal discharger. It dumped smoke all over my house. I reached out to everyone because it seems to be an actual danger as it didn't turn itself off at the proper temps/times, and literally caught fire.

I reached out to the companies involved and this was the response:

Amain sent me a replacement; cool, not much else they can do.
Flite Test told me they were a distributor and didn't really want to help.
RCToolkit (the actual manufacturer) asked for pics/details, and after receiving them stopped responding.

I think it may be an issue with the latest firmware as it seems to draw more and get hotter the closer it gets to the end of the cycle (I.E. discharging from 4.2v to 3.9v works flawlessly with no temp issues, it seems to runaway in the last .1v). There also isn't any sort of issue on the new one Amain sent that is running the older firmware.

The new one seems to work fine; but I wouldn't run these without literally staring at them while they run. Features and Everything else work great, but I still don't think I trust it enough to not burn my house down.

Flite Test M8 DC Charger (8S/15A/300W)
I have the RC toolkit M8 which is the same as this one, just rebranded. The charger is good. will charge a 4s lipo at 15 amps. mine didn't come with any wires, so you will need to create one for your power supply. Great little charger for budget RCers.

*Note: this IS a DC charger. You NEED a power supply to operate it. I would also recommend buying xt60 connectors, for the power supply and wires to charge.

Flite Test M8 DC Charger (8S/15A/300W)
Buyer beware. I bought this thinking that it was in fact, "Everything I needed in one device" like the product description says. I waited a little over a week to receive my first RC car and everything showed up and I couldn't wait to get everything going. You do actually have to get another piece to make this actually work though. So, it is not actually everything you need in one device.

UPDATE:I was able to get an old wall adapter power supply to work. However, I can only charge @ .5A so it takes about 4 hours to charge one battery. I upped to 3 stars as the interface and actual functionality of the thing is great and easy to understand BUT, it will not get more than 3 as even on the manufacturers page for this product there is no mention that you need a separate power supply. If it would be noted that you need a power supply or even just a recommended part like they have on kit product pages. Just something to show that this is NOT EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN ONE DEVICE. I did buy a power supply to go with this but, I would call it false advertisement to say that this is the do it all battery charger that doesn't need anything else even though it does.
