Love the Kyosho Outlaw Rampage Pro! Great for a back yard basher. Reminds me of RC’s from the past. I just went with a 12t brushed system and it’s just enough. Anything more and it would be uncontrollable. If your looking for a performance grade track truck look elsewhere. But if you’re looking to have a little basher to reminisce of the past RC’s you’ve built the go for it.
Very fun truck but the gears in the transmission/rear already wore out. No parts available so I can’t even fix them. Pretty dissatisfied $500 for some true shelf queens
The truck is awesome the build was fun and pretty easy for my first kit!!!
Guys I have been in rc as a builder, racer and collector since 1987. I wrestled with buying this truck for 2 years, because I hated the motor on axle. When the price dropped, I figured it was worth the money as a shelf queen and with looks like this who could blame me right? Well now my 11 year old loves them and has one! This is a kid who has a UDR, Baja Rey and has driver the SBR 2.0! He loves the looks and the challenge of driving it! I 100% agree and now have the one I run and two more NIB! MOA works brilliantly with no torque twist, suspension is awesome and electronics are cheap! Brushed is best and the 12t Traxxas or kyosho 14t motors is so smooth allowing you to get power to the ground. It’s as fast as you can drive this thing in control with its light weight. Stock tires are not garbage as some say! They just do not understand situational throttle control and limitations. Buy it today!
This truck is quite a bit of fun. A bit of a handful to drive just on brushed power, this is the slow car that's fun to drive fast.
It was kind of a pain to assemble. I'm not sure what Kyosho was thinking when they sold this as an 80%, the manual is for an entire kit and you need to hunt through it to find what you need. Some things that were assembled out of the box had to be taken apart again to install everything.
This truck is pretty fun but the stock tires are really really bad. Build is ok but battery tray is pretty small. Fun truck but not for everyone.
Kit is okay. Rear tire holder is bent down on right side so it looks wonky. Spur gear is super weak and very loud. Otherwise its alright for the price.
This will always be one of my favorite models. Everything from the design to the function is almost perfect. The kit is easy to build, and everything fits together nicely. The real joy of this thing is driving it...the Outlaw forces you to pay attention and it actually takes skill to drive. No driver assists, no shaft-driven 4wd, just an axle-mounted RWD trophy truck with realistic handling features. The suspension travel is simply amazing...look up some videos of it driving and you'll see what I mean. Handling characteristics mimic the real thing very closely, and they will change significantly depending on the surface you're driving on. I've got a somewhat mild brushless setup in mine (3300kv HW Max10) running on 2s, and haven't had any problems in over 2 years of driving it. I initially bought a bunch of spur gears and gearbox parts because I figured being all plastic, the brushless motor would punish it too much, but it's held up fine. I highly recommend the Outlaw...even if you've driven other RWD SCT's or Stadium Trucks, there's no other driving experience quite like it.
Received order, excellent service, item received in great order. Not even a scratch on the box, well packaged. THANK YOU AMAIN HOBBIES.
What a fun truck! So much fun on a carpet off road track. On dirt it’s a little tricky to drive, and it will force you to learn good throttle control, but it’s well worth it. Good build, quality parts where it’s needed, Except: Do change out the spur though. It’s not a very good mold and it’s noisy.
First off this is a GREAT Value! The quality is through the Roof! We have all been spoiled by 4wd vehicles. This is 2wd and you have to actually drive it. So much fun. I haven't run anything else sense my purchase. All this needs is a 20t brushed motor. Brushless would be overkill. This is for scale driving not speed runs.
nice truck kit.70% semi-assembled is also nice. I painted body like a RedBull baja truck.
Absolute blast! Running the Traxxas 12t with the Team Associated spur gear and a Radio Link gyro setup. Feels just like driving a real 2wd truck off road. Super smooth over jumps, keeps the nose up without trying. Also killer on smooth and dusty concrete drift tracks. Hangs it out with ease, super controllable using a gyro.
Great running little truck, likes to jump nose up due to rear motor on axle. Definitely not a race truck by any means, but looks great driving and bouncing over things. Great running and driving little truck. Does not like a ton of power, a 17.5/21.5 would be perfect for it.
Looks nice but not a good performer. Tires are not suitable for this truck and gear box is not sealed enough and dirt goes easily inside.
The Worst.. Made of Cheap plastic that looks like Recycled Plastic... Even the gears are Plastic. The Spur gear wears out even before you can say "Kyosho".. Total Waste of Money. Dont waste time on this even if the comapny gives you for Free..
