This is the Yokomo YZ-2 CAL3 1/10 2WD Electric Buggy Kit, designed for Carpet & Astro use. Using the DNA of the successful YZ-2CA, Yokomo has increased the performance and durability on carpet and astroturf surfaces. Yokomo’s YZ-2DTM achieved the perfect win at the 2017 IFMAR 1/10th Electrics Off-Road World Championship in China and replicated that at the EFRA European Championships in Italy. Ryan Maifield TQ’ed and Won the World Championship event with Lee Martin qualifying 2nd and finishing 3rd to galvanize a fantastic team performance. Lee Martin also took the TQ and Win at the European Championship earlier in the same year. Now Yokomo has used that winning formula to produce an updated Carpet and Astroturf YZ-2, with all the quality, performance and knowledge of a World Champion Team.

Overall this is such an amazing kit from the build and parts quality to how it performs on a carpet track. There are a couple very much needed option parts though to get it lower to the ground and stiffer suspension to make it not feel as soft and floaty. The shock oil that this kit comes with I would set that aside and pick up some Associated 37.5wt for the front and Associated 32.5wt for the rear. For the stock springs I would place those aside as well and get associated red 44mm springs for the front and associated yellow 61mm springs for the rear. It is a personal preference but I have my ride height set to 12mm front and 13mm rear which was impossible for me to get down to with the stock parts this kit came with the kit weighing in at 1,499 grams on the dot. With the suspension being tighter this car feels amazing and the corner speed and stability down the straight is amazing. Yokomo for the win on this kit as for there are no upgrades needed other than the optional parts I stated.
