This is an optional Yokomo YD-2 Rear Motor Conversion, intended for use with all YD-2 series kits. Rear motor conversion is ideal to maximize the traction of the rear without changing the total weight of the traction control on the low grip road surface desired by many drift users. Changing the mounting position of a heavy motor will greatly affect the machine balance, and Yokomo has done tests comparable to new vehicle development. The most efficient traction was achieved, and the optimal balance with high driveability was derived. Depending on the road surface, enjoy an overwhelming acceleration and amazing traction control performance. In addition, a motor mount that can adjust the motor position (height) in 6 levels is included. Settings can be changed according to the road surface and driving skills.

Yokomo YD-2 Rear Motor Conversion
Great conversion to try out if you want something new! Drives very different from the "S" type motor configuration (haven't tried the E for myself). Noticeably faster in general along with more grip, but also adds a "pendulum" effect, especially when doing a full send.
On a side note, unfortunately the motor plate from the S (and the E) do not fit. If you soldered your own wires, you will need to make them longer in order for it to reach depending on where you mount the ESC.
If you have any version of the YD-2, definitely try it out. If you are looking for a fully decked out chassis from the get-go with the rear motor, I'd recommend their new YD-2RX.
