Xtreme Racing Traxxas Rustler Black G-10 Chassis Kit
I have mixed feelings about this product. On the one hand, it's pretty sweet- light, seemingly strong, pretty stiff..... On the other, it's not particularly well engineered. It's a pain to assemble, and the instructions are non-existent. The battery retention is poor from a couple different perspectives- hard to assemble (threading the strap is difficult), it's not tight enough (smaller batteries sized for the Rustler are not fully constrained and can pop out during use, yikes), and the G10 'fingers' that flank the battery fore and aft are narrow and sharpish and will hammer on your battery wrap/case.

Finally, the design of the top plate is poor. We've had ours for just about a year and when I was messing with it a day or so ago I realized that the top plate had snapped across a particularly narrow section just forward of the steering servo. Not particularly surprising in hindsight- the material is thin, the plate is flat (no engineered stiffening included) the section is pretty small in cross section, and, worst, it butts right up against the front inboard camber link screws. Any chassis flex will drive the heads of these screws right into the edge of the G10 top plate; I'm certain that's why ours is broken. The company will sell me a replacement top plate for half off which is cool of them, but I'm still looking at >$20 delivered for something that will likely break again due to a lack of thoroughness in the design.
