This is the Xtreme Racing TEN-SCTE "Hybrid" Carbon Fiber/Aluminum Chassis Kit. The Hybrid chassis was developed to provide SCTE owners with an xtremely lightweight chassis (weighs 225 grams including top plate, battery strap and hardware), and features a high quality 3mm carbon fiber chassis plate that has been combined with a CNC machined billet aluminum front kick up plate for durability.

The Xtreme Racing Hybrid chassis features a 2mm "long" top plate that spans from the steering top plate to the rear end, and is connected to the front top plate, center diff mount and rear bulkhead. This provides you with an adequate amount of flex that is suited to most track conditions. But if more flex is desired for rough track conditions, a 2.5mm "short" top plate that spans from the center diff mount to the rear bulkhead is available (XTR10863), and a 2.5mm "long" top plate is also available that provides increased rigidity and is recommended for high traction tracks (XTR10864). Additionally, the chassis allows the use of either the stock rear chassis brace or the optional Torque Rod brace (LOSB2426), as well as the Associated RC8RS rear brace (ASC89258) for an even greater level of tuning possibilities.

Another unique feature found on the Hybrid chassis is the battery tray. The chassis eliminates the stock battery tray, and uses a unique battery strap system that further reduces weight and lowers the center of gravity by mounting the battery, ESC and center differential directly to the chassis. The battery tray is designed to hold 2S hardcase LiPo batteries, and will fit batteries up to 138x46x25mm in size. Plus, the chassis features four battery tray mounting locations, allowing you to tune the weight bias forwards or back to suit your driving style and track conditions.

The Xtreme Racing Hybrid chassis not only offers a variety of unique design elements that help to improve the on track performance of the SCTE, but it will also stand up to the abuse of the Pro4 class, indoors or out. Made in the USA.

NOTE: Two small 1mm holes will need to be added to the rear differential bulkhead to secure the top plate to the rear bulkhead. Also, it is recommended that you sand and seal the edges with CA glue to help prevent de-laminating.

Bought this as a replacement for my stock chassis which began to warp over time, and eventually cracked from hard running. Cons: A bit confusing to put together because of a lack of instruction guide (but a day's worth of trial and error got it built). Rigidity seems lacking compared to the stock chassis. The chassis twists on a central front-to-rear axis when holding the front and rear diffs (you can actually see the chassis twisting, and I am not sure about that being a good thing, knowing how brittle carbon fiber can be), but I could have put it together wrong, it wouldn't surprise me because I was literally guessing the build process. I also have the TLR tuning kit for this car and the adjustable hinge pin tuning set didn't fit well in the front and it didn't fit at all in the rear. I had to shave down the rear a bit to get those parts to fit. Droop screws are also an issue. In the stock chassis (which was quite a nice grade aluminum), the droop screws had smashed their way into the chassis, and knowing the brittle qualities of carbon fiber, it would only be a matter of time until the front and rear diffs would crack away due to droop screws smashing into the brittle carbon fiber so I recommend removing those droop screws if you are considering to buy this chassis. Battery tray. Uhh... Very flimsy from the looks of things. There are two pins that screw onto screws from the bottom of the chassis, then the strap itself is screwed in with a hex over the top of the battery and the two pins are quite thin, and there is only two of them. I dont know how it will hold up over time. Its a tight squeeze to get my 2S LiPos, let alone my 3S in there, and I had to also modify the existing design to get my extra high KV 2S into the battery holder. Also, the batteries are unbelievably close to the center diff. There is less than a millimeter's worth of wiggle room between the spur gear and the battery and I would imagine that a fair jump could knock the battery into the spur and lunch your battery up like its Thanksgiving's turkey... And that could result in a number of interesting demises to your car... Carbon fiber, at least when it is as thin as this chassis is, is very brittle. I know it was in an effort to save weight but I could imagine a few rocks and stones could carve some rather unwelcome cuts into this chassis, and after prolonged rough-running, and I could imagine it breaking from the rocks so I recommend getting an under tray along side this chassis. I was lucky enough to score a "TBG under tray" on ebay for my car, but, knowing that there are NO OTHER under trays on the market for this truck, at least to my knowledge, then I wouldn't advise this chassis for people who run on rock-littered tracks. Pros: Very light. You can feel its lightness, as I stated before, and it looks sharp. Adjustability of the battery tray, forward to rear, is far better than the stock chassis. Four adjustability pegs compared to the stock's two. Apart from the hinge pin areas, the chassies is very nicely machined. Very nicely done there Xtreme racing. While driving, you can feel the lightness. The car may not corner on concrete or clay as fast as it use to, but when you do flip over, it wants to get back onto all four wheels immediately. I only got it stuck on its roof once, and that was when I got the car wedged into a corner. The chassis removes the stock battery tray, and overall lowers the battery and ESC in the truck by about one to two millimeters, thus overall removing weight and lowering the overall center of gravity. All in all its an okay chassis, I have yet to see how it will withstand the rather harsh punishment my track and I can dish out, but hopefully, after I log, lets say, twenty five to fifty hours of run time with this chassis, I will report back here and give some final thoughts, tips, tricks, and my report on this chassis. I purchased this chassis, and within the first day of running it, i hit my fastest laptime ever on a tracklayout that I have been running on for several months. Not only is it functional, it looks awesome and the quality is top notch. Another thing deffinatly worth noting is that, your truck will weigh up to 5oz lighter than the other optional chassis out there. My truck now feels incredibly nimble, moreso thn my sc10 4x4 did. 2 big thumbs up!

EXCELLENT, BUT HAS WEAK POINTS!!!! This setup is super light, so much lighter that I had to change my shock setup. WEAK POINT....Dont be turned away by this. The top plate is only 2mm thick. If you take a good nose landing it will break in half by the servo. The manufacturer said you dont need to run it, SERIOUSLY!!! The top plate is thinner than by B44.1, and chassis flexes too much w/o it. You can send broken parts back to Xtreme and get replacement for 1/2 price. Suggestion is to double up the top plates from the start, or do like I did and build an aluminum one for $5. Best Shock setup I have found for this chassis is..FRONT #3 piston, 32.5 wt. oil, blue spring. REAR #4 piston, 32.5 wt oil, Red spring. Tight track, indoor clay. My friend ran this chassis during a JCONCEPTS INDOOR NATIONAL this year and took 4th in A-Main.

Best hop up so far! Lowered the CG of the truck and created a nimble "switchblade" compared to the "meat clever" stock chassis. Lap times have improved, truck settles much quicker and no more nose diving on the jumps. Competing with the lighter 4wd trucks no longer a problem and it looks great!

Jammin JD , how did you handle the 10-32 x 3/8 Setscrews (LOSA6295) which are installed in the inner side of the suspension arms? dont these screws "eat" the carbon chassis?
