With just over a half gallon on my B5/2057 combo, I was tempted to write up a lengthy review about how effortless the break in was, how easy it tunes, the impressive mileage, the HUGE bottom end, and this combo cost me less than what I spent on my last engine (engine only)...but as I thought about it more...there are thousands of posts scattered through out the web, and 99% of them are singing the praises of the B5. There is absolutely nothing that I can write that hasn't already been written.

People, believe the hype! This engine is awesome! Ive paid much more, for much less...it almost makes me regret the money Ive spent on other engines in the past. I say almost, because if I hadn't forked out the coin for the other engines, I wouldn't know how sweet this B5 truly is! -//- Kortz is using the 2013 at most tracks, a Werks team driver in Finland is using the OS 2060 with excellent results, and a couple of guys at RCTech are liking the JP3. Engine is still pretty new, so experiment and see what 'werks' for YOU! :)

Ron Hopkins Recommended Plugs- OD 97T, or OSP3

I'm getting the 2013 for mine :)

I just broke one in runs great. Have it installed in a Odonnell ZO1B.
During break-in buddy was breaking a .28 Picco JL red dot. All he kept
saying was how great mine was idling and fired right up. After 5 tanks the pinch had loosened up and the thing started to fly. I have a
Werks B3 had some carb leaks when new but it ran so good for a budget motor Ii tried the B5 am Ii am impressed. Just have to see how
many gallons it can go.

I did put this B-5 in my 2.0 8T , Great combo !! This little $200.00 engine is not lacking power by any means, run time was in the 11min. to 12 min. range with a 2013 pipe & a p-3 plug and a 14t clutch bell & 30% sidewinder fuel on a large fast track. I am not sure how long these engines last , but some of the reviews are talking 6 plus gallons. I think it is one of the best bargains for a .21 engine I have ever used , still the #1 seller for A-main. It will run with the best of them.. -//- Wow!! This engine is a ROCKET with the 2013 pipe & excellent run times & a P-3 plug .. The bottom is incredible & top is smokin fast as well . I dont think anyone would disagree with that , It should do very well in a truggy as well I am sure of that.... -//- I just picked one up with the 2013 pipe I have tried the 77t plug it seems good they are less $$ ... 30% sidewinder in a 2.0 8ight buggy. It does have BOTTOM END no doubt about that... I have not had a chance to see what the top is all about yet I have to finish the break in ... seems like a GOOD engine for $200.00 so far ...

Hi guys
No - there are no papers with the engine, and i cant find the factory settings and factory recommended break in proceedure on the Werks homepage.
Can any of you guys help me out ?.
I want to run Byron Gen II 25 percent.
What thickness of head shims do you recomend for break inn - and later for racing with the 25 percent ?
Tks a bunch guys

6 gallons now and mine will sit and bounce on the 3 o'clock test! I have been super happy with this engine. I run the 2013 with odonnell 97t. If I had any complaint it would be the fuel milage. Not that it's bad by any means but at our track alot of the guys that I run up front with run novas and are getting 11-12 mins and I'm getting 9. Our club races are only 15 mins so that really isn't important but races where 10min pit stops is a must I would have to take another stop. I have limited the throttle, ran a cold plug, and tuned on the race side and made 10 min stops but it's very close! However for the money I can't think of another engine that you will get bettew performance to dollar and I love the powerband!

Awesome mill, finished break in and got a gallon on it. The bottom end is more than anyone will need. I have it with a 2053 pipe and still screams from the bottom all the way to the top. I will buy another without a doubt. Idles for days and does not load up. I can let it sit for 3 minutes straight, punch it and it just pulls.

Thanks danny. I went with byron 30% and an o'donnell 97t plug. ill prolly try out the O.S soon. This is a beast engine. TONS of bottom, especially for a 5 five port... The top end is amazing too, this is my engine for next year =P -//- can i run this on 20% nitro, or is it REALLY suggested to run it with 30?

Werks Team Line B5 .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine (Turbo)
Bought this engine last year. Broke in it and got it out from my DNX408T. I've tryed 3 times TLR Gas engine for my truck and after failure came back to Werks B5.
So, I'm disappointed, guys. It have lots of top end with 2058 exhaust and good bottom till it cold.
2-3min on track and it starts too slow. Instead of going straight to high RPM in 1 sec, it takes 3+seconds and 5+m of track to start moving with full power.

I've read all possible manuals and found that it's like my Low needle very rich with high level of Idle needle (that keeps my motor working). I fixed it very caredully (also took cold glow plug, 6.5mm carb restrictor and 30% nitro fuel), but that issue was not completely solved. And I try to lean low needle more and more by 1h every time. After 1 hour on track it was almost OK except that my pipe was making 1-2 smoke rings ^_^ on every straight section.

I've checked temp, it was 140C° on idling... I've made HighRPM needle reacher and try my tuning. It again had not enougth middle rpm power.
After all it broke connecting rod, and I will try another brand for my truck now.

May be for buggy it's OK, but for truggy on narrow and slow track it's terrible.

I have run a b6 and a b5 and in my opinion these motors are very difficult to get a good race tune.. Both motors got about 2 gallons through them and lost pinch. I run nova now and am extremely happy.
