VRP MBX8 1.2mm 'Torsional' Carbon Front Arm Inserts are much different than your typical carbon arm inserts. Rather than flexing torsionally, they flex length wise (from hinge pin to hinge pin). This will help the suspension arm flex correctly; keep them from twisting under load when accelerating/decelerating, yet allow them to flex with the ‘squat’ of the chassis. Overall, they will give you more traction and a consistent feel compared to regular carbon or plastic inserts.
VRP Owner Mike Ankey – “ Traditionally, ‘flex’ in parts were considered either more flex or less flex, not how the material flexes in different directions. Carbon Fiber is an engineered laminate that can be made to flex a certain way in a certain direction. We have applied this to the VRP Torsional Arm Inserts for the MBX8. Normally, feedback is that the traditional carbon inserts take grip away, which is a result of the insert flexing incorrectly. With these inserts the grip is increased along with consistency. It’s a win, win.”
