Viper R/C VTX10-BE "Black Edition" Sensored Brushless ESC
Awesome esc. Been running this since October. Easy to setup with the EZ link. The pig-tail style capacitor is great, no worries of them breaking off like on other esc's..such as the original VTX-10. Also, Viper has the smallest footprint on the market so..in today's buggies/trucks, where space is limited..Viper fits perfectly within the chassis'. As long as this company is making esc's..these will be what I run. If you've never ran a Viper and been thinking about it..do it, totally worth the money. I can race with guys running 200-300 dollar esc's and have no problem being as competitive as them. Most of these newer/black edition models, are upgraded with the newer firmware i.e. A64, however it would be a good idea to get the Viper USB link, just in case you do happen to get one that has the older firmware i.e. A55. You will know it's the newer firmware as soon as you connect the EZ link to it, it should say A64. As far as temps go..as long as you have everything setup right, I can pull off the track after a 10-13 minutes run and it's no hotter than 99-100 degrees. Bottom line, great way to save space(especially in a mid-motor setup)and money and still have a top contender system at the track.
