Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless 1/10 4WD RTR Short Course Truck (Mike Jenkins)
Great trucks to start off with . . Best to start with standard rwd version and move up after learning to handle a truck with tsm as an assist . . Very good trucks with one important upgrade needed if jumping with it . Get aluminum caps for shocks or aluminum shocks all around. . Lpo battery is a great addition to use too for longevity and less fade in power

Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless 1/10 4WD RTR Short Course Truck (Mike Jenkins)
Real nice truck. Very capable racer straight out of the box. Once you add the LCG chassis and some gtr shocks you really can tell the difference. If you cant afford the ultimate, this one will fit the bill. Thanks amain!

Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless 1/10 4WD RTR Short Course Truck (Mike Jenkins)
Received this thing about 10 days ago, in general I'm quite happy with it. The whole package seems well thought out and professionally delivered. The manual/parts list and extras are all spot on.

The truck is certainly fast, and the electronics are totally sufficient for an RTR.

The truck handles horribly on asphalt, and doesn't handle great on dirt either. Everyone said this HCG chassis is pretty tippy, they were correct with that. After upping the shock oil to 50 wt and throwing some Proline springs in there it does a LOT better. Also got some ProLine BFG tires that work really well.

Concluding thoughts? The truck is solid, and really just plain works outta the box. It's not a fantastic racer, but if youre newer to "go fast" trucks, it'll get the job done just fine. The whole reason I bought the Slash over other trucks is the massive forum/YouTube/internet support and the wide availability of parts. Thats been great, lots of awesome tuning tips out there!

Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless 1/10 4WD RTR Short Course Truck (Mike Jenkins)
The Slash is a very quick, and easy to drive model. I was impressed at how fast it was out of the box, and how well the suspension works. The 2wd version drifts in the dirt the best, and the straight away speed is pretty good.
