Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless 1/10 4WD RTR Short Course Truck (Fox)
My radio wouldnt bind, seems like this is a huge problem with Traxxas radios. I'm gonna tinker with it a bit to see if I can get it working before I wait forever for a replacement. I'm using a different tx/rx for the moment.

The truck is solid, quick and a blast to bash around. It handles the skate park near me with ease and screams in the dirt.

Get the aluminum shock caps immediately, the plastic ones leak and crack. The high CG chassis this comes with is best if you're bashing around in dirt or grass but tends by nature to cause rollover if you're on pavement. Upgrade knuckles and drive arms if you're going to put more power in it, and regardless get a fan for the motor and esc to prevent thermal shutdown if you drive like a drunken idiot (like me). Radio problems aside this is a seriously fun wheeler for the price.

What a fun and fast truck. I recommend upgrading the shocks, axles, and adding a cooling fan if you are running the Traxxas 3cell LiPo Battery. This things screams speed.

Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless 1/10 4WD RTR Short Course Truck (Fox)
I have had a bunch of these over the years. They are by far the best out of the box truck. They can take a beating and stop so hard on any surface. Long run times with a good battery and you can have a lot of fun with this truck without feeling like you're abusing it.

Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless 1/10 4WD RTR Short Course Truck (Fox)
GREAT CAR! The first thing you need to get is a aluminum bearing addapter for the slipper clutch because the plastic one does not last! I love how easy it is to replace parts on this car and they are really low priced. I recommend staying with plastic spurs just to reduce the risk of stripping your pinion. This car takes a beating! I ramped it a good 15 feet in the air and it was fine I've rolled it plenty hydropland it and it's amazing. If you are running the car in snow you should get the jeep gladiator or any body that leaves the wheels completely exposed so your electronics don't get covered in snow as easily! DO NOT USE A SLIPPER ELIMINATOR to much torque is when the spur gear gets stripped and you can dammeg the diff. I'd highly recommend this car for pepole looking to get into the hobby and want to work on rc cars if you don't want to have to fix them go to the 1/16 traxxas slash thing in indestructible.

Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless 1/10 4WD RTR Short Course Truck (Fox)
I think this is a stellar vehicle, but if you're planning on running it hard, keep in mind it'll get very expensive. I've planned on racing this version at the track, however, it's not nearly ready box stock.

Plan on doing the Stage 3 upgrades because running it hard and fast, whether at the track or off-road, things WILL break. A LOT. I didn't get a full battery cycle out of it before the shock cap broke off and spilt oil everywhere.

I did the Stage 3 upgrades and it rips now and is much tougher. I recommend this immediately because as we all know, RCs break all the time! This isn't an exception. Of you want something tougher out of the box, GET THE SLASH ULTIMATE EDITION.

As for this rig, I love the Fox Edition body and most of the components are great.

Recommended upgrades:
-LCG Chassis
-Titanium turnbuckles
-TRX hubs, casters, etc
-GTX Suspension (w/ TLR oil-45wgt in the front and 40wgt in the rear)
-A arms/suspension arms

Otherwise, this thing is rad and easily upgradable, just gets expensive. As for amainhobbies.com, there's no other company I do more business with unless they don't have a product I want (can get). Amain's customer service is THE BEST, and not many companies boast this type of service anymore. They are so helpful and ALWAYS available!!!

Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless 1/10 4WD RTR Short Course Truck (Fox)
One of the best Traxxas Vehicles. Why?
Fast, light weight, stable, powerful and fun. Needs only a single 2S or 3S battery.
It has tons of upgrades and parts availability. You can even make it a super start ultra speed buggy with a conversion.
Love it for years.

Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless 1/10 4WD RTR Short Course Truck (Fox)
New to the RC world…just took my brand new Slash 4x4 out on the grass with no hills and ended up breaking the plastic from arms…very disappointed…tried calling customer support but of course they are closed on a Saturday??? Anyways for the first ten minutes it was awesome…very fast and very responsive however I didn’t think I would have experienced such a breakdown on day 1! I understand stuff happens but I didn’t run the truck hard at all! 1 roll over and the front end is effed! Frustrated but not quitting…
