Rustler 4X4 VXL
The Stadium Truck Redefined!

The Rustler 4X4 VXL is a hard-charging wheelie machine that captures the speed and classic style of the number-one-selling Rustler and injects it with brutal 4-wheel drive performance, increased durability, and even more fun! Bury the throttle and the Rustler 4X4 launches its front wheels skyward as it shreds the ground underneath.

Beneath the sleek clipless body, the heavy duty driveline delivers extreme Velineon brushless horsepower. The larger Talon EXT wheels and tires provide versatility and grip for any terrain, from backyard trails to concrete skate parks. Rustler 4X4 VXL destroys convention to become the new performance and fun standard for 4x4 stadium trucks!

Updated Chassis
The low-CG chassis positions the weight low for aggressive handling. The wheelbase has been lengthened 20mm for the perfect balance of stability and quick response. Brushless Velineon power flows through a larger Revo®-Spec slipper clutch and new extreme heavy-duty driveshafts to ensure performance and strength.

Self-Righting
The Rustler 4X4 VXL uses Traxxas’ patented Self-Righting feature to keep the fun going, even when you get carried away with the wheelies or land that big trick upside down. Simply press a button on the TQi transmitter and, in most circumstances, the Rustler 4X4 VXL will be back on its wheels in just seconds and ready for more action!

Clipless Body Mounting
Similar to the flagship E-Revo, the Rustler 4X4 VXL uses a clipless body latching system for secure mounting and fast, one-handed removal and installation. The sleek, aerodynamic body features a rugged internal structure and external rollover protection for long life and Traxxas-Tough™ durability.

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
The 4X4 is sharp looking. Traxxas generally makes excellent products. We've been driving them for over a decade now. This Rustler version has three serious flaws. The body attachment system is brutal. The instructions for removal/replacement are poor. They sound OK, but the actual application of the instructions doesn't cut it. With all that hardware, two clips would have been much better, one front, one back. Second, where are the travel adjustments on this radio? There are NONE? So I'm full over on trim left steering and the servo buzzes out of the box when I go hard RIGHT? No way to decrease travel? I guess moving the servo arm or attachment point on the arm Might do it, but it's doubtful. Finally, where are the detailed instructions on the ESC? I went back to my Bandit Velineon manual and found them there. Not very helpful. What would a new guy do?

Yes, it's fast, it's rugged, and it has a personality. But it's the little things too.

UPDATE … Three weeks in, I'm loving this truck. I've gotten two parts orders, including some wheels and tires and other body parts. Traxxas is the best, no doubt. My buddy figured out the body attachment. Two washers drops the front body clip down just enough to make it easy to slide on the frame clip. Hold the body sides out from the frame when installing. Bingo. The radio works well as-is. There is too much throw in the steering, but with practice you won't hurt the steering servo. Hard turns aren't good anyway. The ESC is OK. If you run a lipo and set it to battery saver, you need to get out of that mode when you go back to NIMHs or the ESC will bling red and quit on you. Turn on, hold the button down for 10 seconds, then all will be good. It should be better explained in the manual, but isn't in mine. I'm up to 4.9 stars on the rating. Thanks for a great truck Traxxas.

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
Great RC car super durable does nice long wheelies when you have the rubber wheelies bar wheels. The only downside is the self-righting does not work.

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
Very fun car. Had it since early September 2019 and it's my first and favorite car. However, I fully upgraded the Rustler 4x4 VXL with all Traxxas upgrades for the car and all the telemetry that should have come free with the car. But the draw back was it was more susceptible to breaking. I recommend not upgrading anything from Traxxas on this vehicle except toe links, aluminum motor mount, caster block and knuckles and C hubs. Do not get the high velocity cv axles the break very easily and over priced. I have repaired 8 already and you will get tired of doing that everytime to run the car. Put the stock back on and it handles the power easily. Other than that have fun. Just converted mines to 6S.

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
I’m super happy with this purchase. Used to race Inferno nitro back in the day and spent a lot of time researching what to buy it get back in the hobby. I knew I wanted electric, brushless, and 4wd. 1/10 scale gets me access to more options if I want to race again. Great build quality and combined with a LIPO 3S 50C battery it rips!

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
Awesome truck. I did put a Ecopower 120t servo in it after the stock Traxxas servo failed. It has been super fun.

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
These things are a real blast. Be mindful of the battery size you intend to use, the 7000mah Gens ace hard case battery I got for this is a little too tall to use the battery hold down. Stays in perfect with velcro though. Other side notes, I would recommend getting steel drivelines. Ive snapped three in the two weeks Ive had it and they were the first to go.
Lastly, invest in the esc and motor cooling fans. These have a tendancy to overheat pretty quick on 3S.

Other than a couple quirks (I drive mine hard also) You can bet you will be glad you bought it.

Amain got it to me in two days, no damage, perfect condition. Cant ask for better than that.

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
The Traxxas Rustler 4x4 is a great truck. Powerful, fast, and rugged. I've had it running around for a couple of weeks now in 25 degree weather and no issues with it in snow and ice. Jumping it 15 feet in the air and no breakage or cracking. The Rustler replaced a Stampede I had for 7 years. Traxxas is great!

This thing rips!!! Only reason I gave 4 stars and not five is you will have to buy several upgrades pretty soon after purchaing just to be able to keep playing.I guess it's not too bad it just has too much power for its own good

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
From the great looking body, to the sure footed 4WD with plenty of traction on any surface and very predictable handling, this truck just "feels" right and drives great. Fast enough on 2S to have fun bashing and on 3S it gets seriously fast. The included speed pinion will have you on a quest for top end speed runs in no time. Included steering servo is plenty fast and seems to offer plenty of torque. The motor and esc run warm and so far I have not seen any abnormal temps with non-stop bashing. Outstanding design for straight forward maintenance and fast and easy modular approach to disassembly and parts replacement if needed. There is nothing negative that I can say about this truck. If you are considering the 4x4 Rustler VXL, just go for it and have fun driving it!

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
I love this RC car. Its pretty sturdy out of the box but if you're going to be taking it off jumps they have some great upgrades to make it more durable (ie bigger shocks, aluminum axel arms, steel driveshafts, etc). The owners manual is very informative and gives you all the information that you need to maintain, replace broken parts and will give you basic knowledge of Traxxas cars. This is a great beginners car, especially if you're going to be repairing broken parts yourself as it is a very simple disassembly. If you're looking to get into the RC Car hobby this is a great start!

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
Awesome car and super helpful staff. This car is very fast with the 3s even with stock gearing (42mph). Will be changing the gearing soon to see how fast it will go. Lots of fun bashing and takes a beating. So far nothing has broke

Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL Brushless RTR 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck (Green)
First run on stock gearing in 36F degree weather it over heated in 5 minutes or less. Looked it over and the front diff is leaking and a screw is falling out of the bulkhead (the treads were ripped out from the factory). Shocks are super weak and without weight on them you could move the spring up and down a 1/4 inch. So I ordered a set of proline shocks and a fan for the motor and a fan for the esc plus temporally super glued the screw into the bulk head until my diff finally runs dry Because of the leak and I can just rebuild it and get a new bulkhead. All and all this was a bad purchase and I’m pretty much done with Traxxas after this disaster of a truck. Yea it’s quick but not as quick or fun or reliable as my 4s outcast that was $20 more and haven’t had to buy anything For it yet. Already over an extra $200 in the rustler just to have it like it should of cane from the factory. No wonder why Traxxas sued Arrma, they obviously seen they are making better trucks and had to try and put them out of business. Luckily that didn’t happen but we sure lost a great Arrma Nero because of it also way better than the Revo 2.0 still to this day. Sorry Traxxas I’ve owned your trucks for the last 15+ years and they just ain’t what they used to be.

My rustler arrived broken with the spur gear stripped out, i had to return it and just got a kraton 4s for 20 dollars more. The traxxas factory is trash and horrible, the quality control sucks and im extremely disappointed
