Rustler 4X4 VXL
The Stadium Truck Redefined!
The Rustler 4X4 VXL is a hard-charging wheelie machine that captures the speed and classic style of the number-one-selling Rustler and injects it with brutal 4-wheel drive performance, increased durability, and even more fun! Bury the throttle and the Rustler 4X4 launches its front wheels skyward as it shreds the ground underneath.
Beneath the sleek clipless body, the heavy duty driveline delivers extreme Velineon brushless horsepower. The larger Talon EXT wheels and tires provide versatility and grip for any terrain, from backyard trails to concrete skate parks. Rustler 4X4 VXL destroys convention to become the new performance and fun standard for 4x4 stadium trucks!
Updated Chassis
The low-CG chassis positions the weight low for aggressive handling. The wheelbase has been lengthened 20mm for the perfect balance of stability and quick response. Brushless Velineon power flows through a larger Revo®-Spec slipper clutch and new extreme heavy-duty driveshafts to ensure performance and strength.
Self-Righting
The Rustler 4X4 VXL uses Traxxas’ patented Self-Righting feature to keep the fun going, even when you get carried away with the wheelies or land that big trick upside down. Simply press a button on the TQi transmitter and, in most circumstances, the Rustler 4X4 VXL will be back on its wheels in just seconds and ready for more action!
Clipless Body Mounting
Similar to the flagship E-Revo, the Rustler 4X4 VXL uses a clipless body latching system for secure mounting and fast, one-handed removal and installation. The sleek, aerodynamic body features a rugged internal structure and external rollover protection for long life and Traxxas-Tough™ durability.

Yes, it's fast, it's rugged, and it has a personality. But it's the little things too.
UPDATE … Three weeks in, I'm loving this truck. I've gotten two parts orders, including some wheels and tires and other body parts. Traxxas is the best, no doubt. My buddy figured out the body attachment. Two washers drops the front body clip down just enough to make it easy to slide on the frame clip. Hold the body sides out from the frame when installing. Bingo. The radio works well as-is. There is too much throw in the steering, but with practice you won't hurt the steering servo. Hard turns aren't good anyway. The ESC is OK. If you run a lipo and set it to battery saver, you need to get out of that mode when you go back to NIMHs or the ESC will bling red and quit on you. Turn on, hold the button down for 10 seconds, then all will be good. It should be better explained in the manual, but isn't in mine. I'm up to 4.9 stars on the rating. Thanks for a great truck Traxxas.
Lastly, invest in the esc and motor cooling fans. These have a tendancy to overheat pretty quick on 3S.
Other than a couple quirks (I drive mine hard also) You can bet you will be glad you bought it.
Amain got it to me in two days, no damage, perfect condition. Cant ask for better than that.
