The Traxxas Magnum 272R Assembled Transmission has been developed specifically for hard hitting drag applications. This replacement transmission is intended for the Traxxas Drag Slash, however, it will work with the 2WD Bandit, Rustler, Stampede or Slash. Package includes one preassembled transmission.
The transmission comes preassembled with all metal gears, bevel gear differential and easily removeable differential. To hold these components together, Traxxas has made an extremely rigid case that incorporates the suspension arm mounts and mount positions for the optional wheelie bar. Full metal gears are used allowing optimal power transfer. Sealed bevel gear differentials are easily tunable to help you get maximum traction on any surface. A removable cover on the bottom of the transmission case allows for ease of access to the differential making maintenance a breeze. All of these features and functions allow greater consistency and all around performance.

Traxxas Magnum 272R Assembled Transmission
Bought it for high-speed run 80+ mph on Bandit.
This 272R comes with 500K diff fluid in the diff gearbox which is sealed.
I used SkyRC Differential Analyzer, SKY-500026-03, to check the 272R upon installation.
It reads over 300, and after a few packs with high-speed runs, it showed about 180.
And, approximately after 10 + packs, it still showed about 170 - 180.
With stock transmission, unsealed diff gearbox, it shows 60 - 70.
This makes very stable straight maneuver for high-speed run.
I high recommend this product!

Traxxas Magnum 272R Assembled Transmission
I used this transmission on a Traxxas bandit build,using a home made metal chassis. This transmission is so smooth. Combination of punchy and speed.I like it.

Traxxas Magnum 272R Assembled Transmission
Works good but fitment of other components is an issue, with the lower cg looks like Traxxas pushed the diff forward a little then lowered the other gears and motor which made the steel drive shaft boots rub the upper camber link in turn tore the boot letting one of the pins fly out and chewed the upper link and lower hinge pin mount on the tranny, had to rebuild the shaft and replace one side of the diff case. The fix was to move the upper link to the top hole on the rear shock tower and of course you have to move the outer rear hub out at the wheel to the upper hole as well to keep the camber in check, and that created another issue with up travel on the upper link. I had to grind a bit off the shock tower to let the link move upwards correctly And the lower motor mount makes it difficult to mount a hobby wing brushless motor. The hobby wing is larger in diameter just a bit and it sits on the lower part of the tranny case with no extra room. All in all after the mods it is a sound transmission.
I put this in my Bigfoot it is much quieter and feels much smoother overall.
