This is an optional Tekno RC Air Control Guard Set, and is intended for use with the Tekno RC SCT410 4wd Short Course Truck. These will help make your vehicle the perfect racing machine! These mud guards will not only help protect your vehicle from mud and dirt, but they also will increase high speed stability, and reduce the "dirty air" that causes your truck to parachute. Tekno RC SCT410 Air Control Guard Set
I have a backyard track that isn't as buttery smooth as indoor race tracks and I do sometimes worry about getting a rock lodged between the open gearing of my SCT410. The air guards not only assist in aerodynamics but also act as a guard against flying debris from below and keeps the chassis cleaner overall. And you know what they say, a cleaner chassis is a faster chassis... ok well maybe they don't say that but that's what I like to think.

I mainly bought this to reduce the amount of dirt/rocks kicking up into the chassis and it did make a noticible difference. In terms of aero, I found it hard to tell if it was very effective as an air guard. I've had no issues with with damage to them so far and I've had them on for 8 months, even after several t-bones from other cars.

Be careful being hit the nerfbars will not flex, after only one not very strong colision my esc tray was broken

Use these only if you don't intend for the truck to get hit much. The parts attach directly to the plastic chassis parts as well as the nerf bars preventing any type of flexing.
They work but without the flexing, the truck is more susceptible to damage. I use these on dirt to keep the dirt out but on carpet, they must come off. There is much more to bounce off of on a tight carpet track with more trucks in a smaller area.

Not very strong, Mine cracked after being used only a few times. They crack and split where the screws go through as they are so close to edge. I didn't really notice a difference with or without them on my track with small to medium size jumps.

These help out a lot with the parachute effect on big jumps but they don't last too long if you take some big spills. The screw holes are so close to the edges it cracks until the screw heads pull through. I recommend them for large tracks with big jumps but I don't think they are needed for most indoor tracks.

These are un-necessary and won't last long. There is a company out of California that makes these out of carbon fiber. They are much more durable and actually give you the down force required.

DO not get these.. really filmsy and poorly cut. the mounting holes are not even aligned to those on the sct.
