Tekno RC "M5" Hardened Steel Mod1 Pinion Gear w/5mm Bore (17T)
I run these with Tekin motors in my EB48 and SCT410. The picture really doesn't do this product justice as the teeth are sharp and aggressively beveled to allow for a precise mesh. Get one of these and try it, you'll be switching out all of your mod 1 pinions to Tekno after using one--trust me.

Tekno RC "M5" Hardened Steel Mod1 Pinion Gear w/5mm Bore (16T)
I picked up the 14, 16 and 18 tooth varaiants of these Tekno Mod 1 pinion gears in August/September of 2018 when I ordered and built my Tekno ET48.3, SCT410.3 and EB48.4 kits. I have since picked up another 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 25 tooth gears, and while these Tekno pinions are not the cheapest, they are by far the best, longest lasting and strongest pinions I've ever come across by a mile. None of them even have the slightest amount of wear on the teeth other than a slight amount of rounding on the edges which is completely normal as the gears mesh and wear in with the steel spur gears I normally run, and they have getten noticeably quieter as a result too. The only other sign that they even have use is that the black anodizing has worn away where the gears mesh. Both the 18's and 16 have well over 50 packs on them at an average of about 20 minutes, and they are just as good as the 14 and 23 which have less than 5 packs on them.

The other reason these gears are the best out there IMO is that they use the extra big set screw that uses the 2.5mm allen, rather than the standard 1.5 or 2mm. This makes it way harder to strip out over time, even for the people who think that pinion set screws need to be tightened down with a 1" impact gun to 3,296 pound/ft of torque. A little blue threadlock, snug them down, not very tight, and I can say that between probably 30 1/10 and 1/8 rigs Ive built and run over the last 6 years with literally hundreds of pinion gear changes I have not had one of them ever come loose, spin or stripped a set screw on any gear that was new when I first installed it.

Anyway, these Tekno Mod 1 gears would get 10 stars if possible, maybe 9 because of the price, but because they are so good you shouldnt really ever need to replace one once you buy it so I think the extra cost is worth it in the long run.

Replaced Kraton 6s V5 pinion with this after it chipped. M2.5 grub screw really lets you torque this thing down with confidence.

Tekno RC "M5" Hardened Steel Mod1 Pinion Gear w/5mm Bore
The Tekno pinions are absolutely awesome. They have a larger set screw so you can get them nice and tight and the steel is VERY hard. I ran one on my Serpent SRX8e that has a steel spur gear for over a year, and the pinion has minimal wear.

Tekno RC "M5" Hardened Steel Mod1 Pinion Gear w/5mm Bore (13T)
I measure all gears for conformance (and I have a ton, from all makers), and these are consistently within a few hundredths of a mm. The tooth count is clearly marked so that it can be read from a distance, and the set screw is a huge M5x4.

I run these in two Teknos, an Mp9e, and a bunch of bashers. I run them in terrible conditions - rocks, sand, mud, rain, etc. - and I don't take care of them. I abuse them horribly, yet they seem to last for years.

In my view they are absolutely worth the small price premium.

Tekno RC "M5" Hardened Steel Mod1 Pinion Gear w/5mm Bore (24T)
I absolutely LOVE these Tekno pinions. They have larger grub screw than comparable pinions, which means you can be sure its tight, but also, you will be able to get it back off with out rounding out the screw like other pinions. (I had this happen on a novak pinion).

Also built very well in that the gear mesh is very quiet when set properly. Thanks Tekno! I already ordered 3 more in different sizes!

Tekno RC "M5" Hardened Steel Mod1 Pinion Gear w/5mm Bore (19T)
Great pinion gears. I have a 16t and an 18t for my Kraton EXB and they aren't showing any signs of wear, even after the pinion slid back on the motor shaft and machined a nice hole in my motor mount. I'm going to say that if this pinion gear slipped, any other pinion would have and it was not the fault of the pinion. The grub screw feels solid and won't likely strip anytime soon. These will be my go to pinion from now on.

Tekno RC "M5" Hardened Steel Mod1 Pinion Gear w/5mm Bore (28T)
I have about every size of these Tekno pinions from 15 up to 26 tooth that I run in my SCT410.3, ET48.3 and EB48.4, as well as my 6s Kraton and these are by far the best and longest lasting pinions Ive ever used. With the bigger grub screw Ive yet to have one strip or come loose in over a year and half. Only Mod 1 pinions Ill ever use. Yet another great Tekno product.
